Union Plus and Rev Worldwide Launch Pre-Paid Card Program

Union Privilege, the AFL-CIO’s member benefits arm, plans to offer private label, union-endorsed prepaid cards to the 13 million union members it serves through a partnership with Rev Worldwide, the companies announced. The Union Plus Prepaid Card program is fully customized for participating unions and will deliver a range of best-in-class features such as high-yield savings and mobile capabilities at unmatched value. Rev Worldwide developed and provides the distribution and processing platform for the Union Plus Prepaid Card program and promotes the card program through a variety of channels in collaboration with Union Privilege. Inter National Bank, member FDIC, issues all cards offered through the program.

Kawasaki Motors Renews Household’s Contract

Household’s retail services business has signed Kawasaki Motors USA to another multi-year, private-label financing agreement. The agreement extends and strengthens Household’s long-term relationship with Kawasaki. Household has extended credit through Kawasaki’s private label credit program since 1989, providing Kawasaki dealers multiple credit products that offer quick and efficient processing, exciting credit promotions that drive customers to purchase and enables customers to make repeat purchases without having to re-apply. Household Retail Services is the third largest issuer of private label credit cards in the United States.

Household Lands the Bernie & Phyl’s Card

Household has signed an agreement to manage the private label credit card program for Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture, the largest privately owned furniture retailer in Massachusetts. Bernie & Phyl’s credit cardholders will be able to purchase brand name furniture and accessories for their entire home. In addition to receiving opportunities for special financing, cardholders will also receive exclusive money-saving offers. Household International, Inc., based in Prospect Heights, Ill., is a wholly owned subsidiary of HSBC North America Holdings Inc., one of the top 10 financial services holding companies in the United States.

Mehta Becomes Vice Chairman of Household

HSBC North America has named Bobby Mehta as vice chairman of Household, responsible for Household’s consumer lending and mortgage services businesses, HSBC Group’s worldwide credit card operations, and HSBC Bank USA’s first mortgage operations. Household Vice Chairman Bobby Mehta will be responsible for Household’s consumer lending and mortgage services businesses, HSBC Group’s worldwide credit card operations, HSBC Bank USA’s first mortgage operations, and strategic planning, corporate marketing and corporate development for HSBC North America Holdings. HSBC Bank USA has more than 400 branches in New York State, giving it the most extensive branch network in New York.

Express Money Card

Household has signed an agreement to manage the private label credit card program for Furniture Row Companies, and its 250 stores in 29 states, and will launch the “Furniture Row Express Money Card”. Furniture Row brands include Oak Express, Sofa Mart, Bedroom Expressions, Denver Mattress & Furniture Row Outlet. Customers using the new Express Money Card will be able to purchase bedding and specialty home furnishings for their entire home. Household’s retail services business works with more than 70 partners at 63,000 locations across the country to help them attract new customers and build consumer loyalty.

Galyan Experience Card

Household International, a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc announced that its retail services business has signed an agreement to establish a new private label credit card program for Galyan’s Trading Company Inc. Through the agreement, Galyan’s and Household will develop the Experience Card for customers who are passionate about sports and the outdoors.

Household Promotes Greer

Household International has promoted Valerie Greer, who joined HH in 1988, to SVP of business development for the Household Retail Services business. Greer is responsible for developing new private label credit card relationships with retailers and manufacturers. She was previously assistant vice president of business development at Household Retail Services where she was instrumental in establishing new relationships with retailers Menards and QVC, as well as manufacturers Compaq, Toshiba, and IBM.

Household & Levitz

Levitz Home Furnishings has renewed its private label credit card contract with Household International. The new contract extends a relationship with Levitz Home Furnishings, Inc., the parent company of both Seaman Furniture and Levitz Furniture Corp. Household has managed Seaman’s private label credit card program since 1997 and the Levitz program since 1998.

LaFalce Advises Household

Household has named former Congressman John LaFalce of New York to its Consumer Advisory Board. In addition to former Congressman LaFalce, Household’s blue ribbon panel includes former Senator Connie Mack (R-FL), former White House chief of staff Thomas “Mack” McLarty, Democratic National Committee vice chair Lottie Shackelford, former California State Senator Art Torres, and Ohio State University College of Law Professor Vincene Verdun.
