CST Brands and Cardtronics Canada inked a deal to be the exclusive provider of ATM services at Corner Store locations across Quebec, Atlantic Canada and eastern Ontario locations.
Movistar and MasterCard launched “Your Mobile Money” electronic money service to provide offer significant savings in their money transfers. The service is available in 20 of the country’s departments to Movistar’s 16 million plus mobile customers, allowing customers to access an electronic money account. It creates a link their telephone number to their “Your Mobile Money” card, and will be able to make financial transactions such as sending and receiving money from a cell phone. It ultimately makes card purchases at MasterCard-affiliated establishments, and replenishing the balances of their own or third-party cellphones.
Sr. Pago (Señor Pago) mPOS services closed a seed round of $1 million in funding after last month’s launch of the Sr. Pago Card System. This service combines a smartphone credit card reader with a debit card that can be reloaded with payments accepted through the card reader. Provided in conjunction with MasterCard and Te Creemos, the Sr. Pago Card System is offered to individuals and small businesses in Mexico that have been underserved by existing banking services. The Sr. Pago Card System provides a secure, chip-based debit card, a chip card reader that connects to any smartphone or tablet, and an app for managing transactions. This enables individuals and small businesses to accept credit card payment for the services they provide, transfer that money to a MasterCard debit card, and then make purchases with the card at MasterCard’s worldwide acceptance.
Bancomer Transfer Services signed an agreement with Wal-Mart de Mexico y Centroamerica that will enable BTS customers to collect remittances directly at the stores of one of Mexico’s largest retailers. Tje BTS’s money transfer system will now be available through Wal-Mart’s 1,100 stores in the country. Remittances constitute a major bond between Mexico and the U.S.: In April 2014, remittances to Mexico grew 2.1 percent year-over-year, according to Mexico’s Central Bank. Wal-Mart de Mexico y Centroamerica, a subsidiary of Wal-Mart Stores Inc., said that the deal makes the retailer even more of a convenient destination for its customers.
Flint Mobile today announced the integration of its no-card-reader mobile payment app with Intuit’s QuickBooks Online. Flint is the only mobile phone-based payment app that automatically syncs all transactions, line item information and customer information with the user’s QuickBooks Online account, eliminating manual data entry while also providing detailed reporting and customer history tracking not available with other platform integrations.

2C2P payment solutions and Myanmar Citizens Bank, one of the pioneer private banks in Myanmar, have officially announced the launch of the mPOS solution, iACCEPT, in partnership with Myanmar Hotels International Group, to accept MasterCard and Visa international payment cards. iACCEPT is a 2C2P owned innovative mobile solution that transforms iOS and Android smart phones into a mobile point of sales system. iACCEPT will allow Inya Lake Hotel and The Strand Hotel, both luxury hotels under Myanmar Hotels International Group, to accept payments through MasterCard and Visa inside the guest room, effectively providing in-room express check out facilities for guests. iACCEPT solution runs on the same backbone of 2C2P’s PCIDSS Level 1 payment platform, so it is as secure as a traditional POS terminal.
Cardtronics announced a licensing agreement with BBVA Compass, providing the bank branding rights to more than 300 ATMs in H-E-B stores. The deal equates to a nearly 50% jump in the bank’s Texas ATM network, bringing its total to nearly 1,000 machines. The deal provides the bank with potential access to shoppers at more than 300 H-E-B operated stores. The agreement between Cardtronics and BBVA Compass is part of a growing relationship established in 2012. Prior to this H-E-B announcement, BBVA Compass had branded 268 Cardtronics-owned ATMs in convenience and grocery stores throughout Colorado and Texas.
