Billtrust has hired Tom Iler as Chief Information Officer and Paul Wakolbinger as Senior Vice President of Sales.Iler, most recently at New York digital technology company Vibrant Media where he was Chief Technology Officer, has over 15 years of C-level technology experience. He has served in CTO and CIO positions at companies of all sizes from successful startups to large public corporations. In addition to Vibrant Media, Iler has held executive posts at Ascend One, AOL and Advertising.com. Wakolbinger, with more than 20 years’ experience as a software sales and sales management executive, comes to Billtrust from SunGard Corporate Liquidity, a division of SunGard Financial Systems, where he was Senior VP of Sales, Receivable Solutions. Wakolbinger’s specialty is building sales teams that consistently exceed sales quotas; he has extensive experience in selling application software as well as SaaS and managed-service offerings.
First Data appointed Michael Manos chief technology officer to oversee global technology infrastructure. Manos joins First Data from AOL Inc., where he served as AOL’s chief technology officer and was responsible for global technology and development platforms for all AOL subscription businesses, the industry, technology and media sites, AOL mail and messaging, and global mobile engineering efforts. Prior to joining AOL, he was a vice president at Nokia where he was responsible for the global operations, consolidation and restructuring of service operations for commercial-facing products and services. Before that, he was senior vice president for technical services at Digital Realty Trust where he oversaw the design, engineering, construction, and long-term operation for the company’s data center operations. He has also held leadership positions of increasing responsibility at Microsoft, Walt Disney and Nuclio Corporation.

Severine also served as Senior Vice President of Global Sales for AOL/ADTECH, where he was responsible for domestic and international sales for numerous AOL Networks platforms. Domenick comes to adMarketplace from Microsoft, where he served as Chief of Staff for Global Accounts & Agencies. He joined Microsoft in 2007 and managed a range of cross-group initiatives for Microsoft’s Global Creative Solutions team. Fiserv announced that Jim Tobin has joined the company as senior vice president and general manager, Mobile Solutions, Digital Channels. Tobin will be responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day oversight of the market-leading Mobiliti™ mobile banking and payments solution from Fiserv. Mobiliti currently supports mobile banking, alerting and payments services for more than 1,000 financial institutions and millions of consumers in North America, Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East and Europe. Tobin was most recently Senior Vice President of Software and Services at Blackberry, formerly Research in Motion, where his responsibilities included work on mobile payments initiatives in collaboration with banks and telecommunications companies around the world. He also contributed significantly to Canada’s 2010-11 Task Force for the National Payments Systems Review. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and a bachelor’s degree from Yale College.

EcoScraps sustainable, organic, chemical- and manure-free lawn and garden products received $250,000 from Chase and LivingSocial as part of the “Mission: Small Business” grant program, designed to increase awareness of the important role small businesses play in local communities. EcoScraps no-chemical alternative soil products and has been able to quickly expand and reach a wide variety of consumers. Participating small businesses from across the country were evaluated based upon their applications which were required to demonstrate a feasible growth plan, creativity, overall passion for their business and the potential to make a positive impact within the local community. A panel of small business experts reviewed nearly 70,000 applications from small businesses across the country and enlisted support from 3.1 million consumers who each voted for their favorite small businesses, for which EcoScraps was one of 12 companies selected.
