Grenoble-based Tiempo Secure is teaming with Seoul-based Secure Platforms Technology (SP-Tek) to market smart card chips equipped with the JavaCard OS. Their combined offer is targeting smart card manufacturers in the Americas, who are supporting the current migration from magnetic stripe to EMV smart cards.
Oberthur Technologies announced its involvement as the supplier of the latest generation of high end NFC SIM card – “dragonFly”, in the first NFC commercial project jointly launched by top operators in Russia. The project concerns public transportation payments in Kazan, Russia. This NFC project has been launched in order to provide the city with a solution aimed at increasing the convenience of using public transport in Kazan, and to promote its use through the introduction of non-cash fare payment via a mobile phone. In addition to the transport ticketing service, some of the operators offer subscribers a combination of transport and payment services based on NFC technology. This brings NFC services in Russia to a new level: from a single NFC service to a multiple offering.
Aconite EMV transaction processing and chip card issuing solutions, is proud to announce that a solution enabling the real-time provisioning of EMV applets onto NFC-enabled mobile phones has been implemented at International Card Services (ICS), the largest credit card issuing business in the Netherlands. ICS is already a customer for Aconite’s Affina® Enterprise smart card lifecycle management system for issuing and maintaining their extensive cardbase of MasterCard and Visa credit cards. As a part of this program, Aconite have enhanced Affina Enterprise to allow ICS to generate mobile EMV applet data and to deliver it in real-time to NFC handsets via a TSM service. The solution has the advantage of enabling ICS to manage both card and mobile issuance from a single system.

The INSIDE payment applet can be used by banks, wallet providers, transit operators, mobile network operators, handset and tablet makers and others in SIM, microSD and other form factors to enable MasterCard payments in any NFC mobile device. The INSIDE Mobile MasterCard PayPass M/Chip 4 payment applet is part of the company’s ongoing development effort to offer a comprehensive suite of pre-tested or certified branded payment, access control and banking applets. INSIDE also plans to support the Visa Mobile Payment Applet, First Data CertiFlash Mobile and the SecureKey Authentication Applet.

Proxama and Aconite smart card software services have launched their Mobile Prepaid solution. Extending the capability of the solution Aconite recently implemented for the South African Transit project. Customers can use the new range of NFC mobile phones in the same way as contactless chip cards to transact with contactless acceptance devices, such as those being deployed in South Africa’s public taxi-buses. Aconite’s Prepaid Value Manager (PVM) solution can be implemented alongside any existing payment infrastructure to handle the complex processing needed to support the ‘on-card’ value used in EMV based contactless products. These products can be issued on regular chip cards or on mobile phones and other token types (‘smart devices’).
YESpay International European and North American payment gateway is positioning itself for providing new mobile commerce payment services. Growing at over 40%, with many thousands of merchants globally, YESpay has launched a free consumer mobile and web wallet service, that in the future will also support NFC (near field communication) based payments, once NFC smartphones become widely available. YESpay-Wallet for BlackBerry, iPhone and Android smartphones will shortly be available. YESpay-Wallet supports roll out of retail couponing, loyalty and location-based mobile advertising and marketing services, many of which will use NFC in the future. MasterCard announced the availability of the MasterCard “ATM Hunter” application for Android Smart Phones to let users find the nearest ATM anywhere in the world. The MasterCard “ATM Hunter” leverages the location-based technologies of the Android platform to search for the nearest ATM and can search for specific accommodations. These include wheelchair accessible ATMs, drive-thru or 24-hour access ATMs. With the “ATM Hunter” application for Android, users can also “report a problem” for an ATM location, featuring real-time communication back to MasterCard.

solutions’ “Pocket POS” mobile payment applications. Boasting savings of
