Acculynk announced that the European Patent Office granted Acculynk patent protection for the company’s propriety process for PIN based authentication over the Internet. The patent protects the mechanisms and processes behind Acculynk’s innovative PaySecure® product, a software-only service that allows consumers to pay for online purchases with their debit card and bank-issued PIN. Acculynk is the only global payment gateway that brings e-Commerce merchants PIN authenticated payments for debit or credit cards across some of the largest markets in the world. Currently the PaySecure solution is supported in 3 of the 5 largest PIN debit markets: USA, India and China. Globally Acculynk supports over two billion bank issued cards in its network.
Acculynk is now offering U.S. merchants the capability to accept China’s Union Pay PIN debit cards on their Chinese websites using the PaySecure International graphical PIN pad for UPOP authentication. U.S. e-commerce merchants interested in tapping into the large number of consumers in China must be able to accept Chinese payment methods, as well as authenticate a Chinese cardholder in order to make the sale. PaySecure International provides U.S. merchants the ability to accept and authenticate Union Pay cards with the same PaySecure PIN pad used for internet PIN debit transactions with U.S. cardholders. Airbnb, the world’s leading marketplace for booking, discovering, and listing unique spaces around the world, will be the first U.S.-based merchant to leverage PaySecure International to access the more than 3 billion UnionPay PIN debit cardholders. Chinese customers can now use their UnionPay debit cards to secure accommodations at one of Airbnb’s 300,000 listings worldwide.
Acculynk announces support of its PaySecure International authentication solution by major gateways outside the US, including industry leader CCAvenue and other prominent gateways in the Indian e-commerce market. As India’s biggest payment gateway, CCAvenue is among the first payment gateways to process RuPay debit cards. Customers will now be able to use RuPay Debit Cards to make purchases securely and conveniently on thousands of merchants’ websites powered by CCAvenue.

Acculynk payments provider and “PaySecure” software-only service for Internet PIN debit payments appointed Mark Herrington to its Board of Directors. Currently Executive Vice President, Global Product Management & Innovation for First Data Corporation, Herrington brings to the board a wealth of experience. He joined First Data in 2007 as First Data was in the process of acquiring Money Network, which he co-founded in 2001. Mr. Herrington’s financial services experience includes prepaid, TeleCheck, e-commerce, mobile payments and merchant loyalty.
Acculynk has acquired PayLeap e-commerce payment gateway platform and merchant services ISO to form Acculynk “Direct.” Providing an acquirer with the ability to offer Internet PIN debit to small and mid-market merchants, Acculynk Direct will provide full service payment processing and payment gateway solutions to small and mid-size merchants, and a full affiliate program to partners and resellers. Additionally, Acculynk Direct plans to provide a full suite of developer-oriented tools to provide simple integration of the service into mobile merchant applications and e-commerce sites. PayLeap brings to the table fraud management tools, tokenized cardholder data vault, hosted payments page, online secure checkout, recurring payments, and a co-branded virtual terminal.
Acculynk “PaySecure” PIN authentication for online debit transactions and National Payments Corporation India (NPCI) partnered. With this, Acculynk will be the premiere provider of authentication for all online RuPay debit card transactions, bringing RuPay debit card consumers in India the ability to use their PIN-only debit cards for e-commerce. The RuPay card is a PIN-only based debit card used at ATMs and POS and can now be used to make online purchases. NPCI, promoted by 10 Banks under the aegis of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA), introduced RuPay enabled ATM cards in June, 2011. RuPay debit card was launched on 26th March 2012 with 4 Banks.
Acculynk announced it has signed a new agreement with Digital River World Payments. Online merchants using the Digital River World Payments or Global Commerce enterprise solutions now will have access to Acculynk’s “PaySecure” payment method for Internet PIN debit. Acculynk’s PaySecure is the first software-only service in the U.S. that provides consumers the option to pay for online purchases with a PIN debit card. Today, there are more than 82 million PIN-only debit card holders in the U.S., Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. With “PaySecure”, online shoppers enter their PIN on a virtual PIN-pad pop-up during the checkout process on the merchant’s commerce site. PaySecure is designed to provide an extra layer of security for debit card transactions, helping reduce fraud and charge-backs for merchants, while offering opportunities for incremental volume.
