AnywhereCommerce added three recognized payments executives to bolster its international business activities. William Nichols, Nigel Bidmead, and Jimmy Quake have joined the company to drive sales initiatives and develop business across its growing global footprint. AnywhereCommerce has an established market presence in the North America, LAC, EMEA and APAC with its award-winning aCommerce series of mobile point of sale (mPOS) solutions. Driving international sales and marketing with a current focus on Latin American and the Caribbean is William Nichols, who was named executive vice president of international markets. Prior to joining AnywhereCommerce, Nichols held executive positions at First Data Corporation and VeriFone, where he was responsible for channel development and expansion, sales execution, product strategy development, and consulting services. Nigel Bidmead, who was named executive vice president, is responsible for business development and sales activities in the EMEA region. Bidmead comes to the company after several senior executive roles with industry giants First Data, VeriFone and ACI where he led large teams of personnel and drove important deals in the areas of electronic payments, cards, authorization and settlement systems, as well as software and telecommunications.Rounding out the expanded international management team is Jimmy Quake who has some 20 years of experience in the payments sector, and will serve as AnywhereCommerce’s senior vice president for the Asia-Pacific region, and will lead business development and market expansion efforts in that locale. Before joining AnywhereCommerce, Quake served as vice president for ViVoTech, and held a number of executive positions for VeriFone in Australia and Asia.
Kieron Abernethy has been appointed as SVP, Sales with PayX International global independent payments knowledge company. With this he will oversee customer growth as it assists the payments community to evolve through a period of unprecedented change. He joins PayX with valuable sales leadership experience in the payments industry with recent roles of Vice President Strategic Sales First Data International for their Financial Business, Managing Director (UK) at NCR Ltd, COO at Moneybox Plc and CEO at Cash4All Ltd. First Data electronic commerce and payment processing has issued a new brand name for its “Bank of Scotland Merchant Services” acquiring, now functioning under “First Data Merchant Solutions.” This is the first step in a longer-term plan to deliver enhanced value and solutions to First Data’s merchant customer base in the UK, marking the company’s first acquiring venture in the UK, and one of just a few around the world to operate under First Data’s own name without the attachment of a banking partner brand. This change gives First Data the ability to publicly highlight its global strength as an independent expert in the retail payments space.
Payment processor First Data has signed a merchant services agreement
with American Express. Under the terms
of the agreement First Data will become the exclusive merchant acquirer
and merchant processor for American Express Card transactions in Poland.
First Data will assume responsibility for the range of merchant services
including signing new merchants to accept American Express branded
cards, managing relationships with existing merchants and processing
merchant transactions on the American Express network and be responsible
for managing and implementing new solutions for
American Express merchants in Poland, including migration to the EMV
standard. American Express Card acceptance will remain available to
Polish merchants through a number of acquiring agents, overseen by First

VeriFone Holdings has received GIE Groupement des Cartes Bancaires
certification for the deployment of its countertop and portable payment
“Vx Solutions”, which includes the “VX 510” and “VX 670”, across
France. With this certification, the company can provide payment solutions
in various market sectors with its “VX 510” for payment processing,
expanded memory and support for post-factory applications while the
VX 670 is compact, portable, Bluetooth compatible, GPRS compatible
and Wi-Fi compatible for delivery, restaurant or high volume vendors.
VeriFone has achieved “Common Criteria EAL4” for its “Vx Solutions” payment systems, including the “Vx 670,” “Vx 570,” “Vx 610” and “Vx 510”. The “Common Criteria EAL4” security requirements evaluate the integrity of PED systems from design and development to production, product evolution and utilization. Assurance under Common Criteria EAL4 has been mandated by APACS as a supplement to the existing PCI PED requirements, providing a very high level of security for PIN entry devices in use in the UK. It is a requirement for all PIN Entry Devices deployed in the UK to meet this standard.
Verifone Holdings has introduced “PAYware solutions” retail software tools.
The new solution, for payment, value-added solutions, and estate
is designed to integrate retail environments and is part of the company’s
end-to-end offering. This includes wireless and unattended hardware
back-end software, and supporting professional services. The solution also
includes “PAYware Signature” for electronic signature capture at the
point-of-sale, and “PAYware Content” enabling the management, storage,
and delivery of media content to multimedia devices.
Verifone Holdings has announced that it has signed agreements
with Nigerian transaction switching and electronic payment
processing company InterSwitch. This will allow inter-bank
electronics payments for Nigerian cardholders with deployment
of VeriFone’s GPRS-enabled “Vx 610” payment systems to
Interswitches’ bank and merchant customers. Interswitch unites
banks onto the same ATM and POS network, providing integration
to 23 out of the 25 banks in the country. Using wireless technology,
the “Vx 610″system delivers high-speed functionality and ease of
use without tying customers to a fixed location. It is owered by
a 32-bit processor for quick transactions.
Verifone Holdings has announced an agreement with Network International
LLC, part of the Emirates Bank Group, to distribute the portable payment
system “VX670”. This agreement contributes to Verifone’s effort in global
expansion and will require the distribution of their “VX670” in retail
outlets and restaurants in the Middle East region. The new model is smaller than
its predecessors and offers smart card support. Network International LLC
is the regions’ first independent third party processing vendor that is
by both Visa and MasterCard.
VeriFone Holdings has installed its “PAYware Merchant” system to more than 600 Argos stores in the UK, enabling Argos to process 50 transactions per second, more than 100 million transactions every year. “PAYware Merchant” accepts all major cards and supports the latest fraud prevention initiatives, including EMV and 3D Secure for Internet payments and supports EMV Chip and PIN. VeriFone Holdings provides secure electronic payment solutions. Argos is a merchandise retailer with sales of over GBP 3.5 billion.

with Multi functional Processing Company(MPC), a long-term partner of
