United Bankers’ Bank Implements Aptys Unified Payment Processing

Chili’s chain restaurant throughout Indiana installed TableTop Media “Ziosk” pay-at-the-table touchscreen devices for its consumers’ use. To alleviate the biggest complaint from guests in restaurants – not being able to pay their checks and leave when they are ready- “Ziosk” is the digital entertainment and pay-at-the-table device lets users see featured items, play games, watch movie trailers, sign up for e-clubs, order desserts, take surveys and pay on demand when they are ready to depart. Ultimately, this eliminates the frustration of waiting for a busy server, letting customers simply pay with credit, debit and gift card payment options and leave.

Marine Bank Expands Relationship with CSI

Springfield-Ill.-based Marine Bank and two affiliate banks, United Community Bank, Oakwood and Schuyler State Bank, Rushville, have signed a multi-year contract with Computer Services, for the full suite of CSI products and services, including core processing, item processing, card services and risk management solutions. Marine Bank ($580 million in assets) has been a CSI customer for two decades – a testament to both the service provider’s technology and customer service. The “NuPoint Portal” is a comprehensive core banking suite delivered via service bureau and supported by solution customization and training. By leveraging CSI’s infrastructure, resources and expertise, the banks eliminate the investments in hardware, software, and people associated with in-house systems; CSI Item Processing Solutions includes branch capture, remote deposit capture and complete mailing services including statement and notice rendering; CSI Card Processing is online/fully integrated solution to CSI NuPoint, including ATM terminal driving, 7/24 monitoring, fraud prevention and card access to regional and national networks; Risk Management Solutions, which includes iMonitor, a fraud prevention solution that detects potential money laundering by monitoring customers, accounts and transactions to identify high risk customers and electronically report suspicious activity.

A new survey commissioned by State Farm found that even though 51% of
women ages 25-65 are concerned about their financial future,
only 19% have reported making major changes to their
financial planning. Thirty-one percent conducted research, but
ultimately didn’t do anything
differently, and 38% only made small changes with little or no impact
on short- or long-term financial performance, such as moving money from
checking to savings accounts. When women look for financial guidance,
they don’t always seek out
expert advice. The survey also found that 18% turn to their parents ,
15% to friends and 12% to spouses for financial advice and may not be as
likely to seek the guidance of professionals like insurance agents (7%) or
accountants (5%). More than 42% find going to the dentist less
excruciating than talking to their spouses about their daily finances
and 32%of women report only having
enough money in their savings to cover one month or less of expenses.
While 79% women feel it’s important to be adequately prepared for the
future; however, 38% suspect they’re falling short,
worried that they haven’t done enough to secure their financial futures.

Moneris Signs Freestar Bank for Card Processing

Kahuna to Resell Systech’s Dial-to-IP

San Diego-based Systech has teamed with Kahuna ATM Solutions to resell Systech’s dial-to-IP converters for ATMs. Systech Internet Payment Gateways convert dial-up payment transactions to high-speed IP transactions. The gateways connect both legacy and new ATMs to Kahuna-sponsored processing hosts over the public Internet using secure SSL IP protocols. No changes are required to the installed ATM software dial applications. Merchants with existing, private IP networks can also use the Systech/Kahuna solution to convert and re-route dial transactions through existing WAN links.
