Contis Group Launches Visa Prepaid Debit Travel Card

Gemalto Smart card has posted revenue of EUR453million for 4Q/09 and EUR1.7billion for the entire year, for a 2% increase over 2008 full year revenues. The IFRS consolidated income statement for the full year 2009 shows an operating income of EUR136 million and a net profit of EUR118 million, compared with an operating income of EUR127 million and a net profit of EUR115 million reported in the full year 2008. For the quarter, meanwhile, gross margin increased by 80 basis points to 36.3%, on the back of performance improvements in all three main segments. Operating expenses accounted for 26.2% of revenue, compared to 25.6% a year ago. Operating income was EUR171 million and the operating margin 10.3%. Excluding the special provision, operating income came in at EUR182 million and the operating margin at 11%, an increase of 90 basis points year on year. Net interest income was reduced by the significantly lower market yields on short-term investments, and was down EUR9 million to EUR 0.1 million. Gemalto digital security has announced its Development Plan for 2010 to
2013 to expand profit by more than 50% from operations to EUR300
million. In doing so, the Company plans to initiate a dividend
distribution to complement its existing share buy-back program and
propose a dividend of between EUR0.20 and EUR0.25 related to fiscal year
2009 at the next annual general meeting of shareholders in May 2010.
Highlights of the development plan include; expanded profit in each
business segment (Mobile Communication, Secure Transactions and
Security) from operations; generating strong levels of operating cash
flows for re-investment to fuel organic growth, fund bolt-on
acquisitions and shareholders return; and to further increase its return
on capital employed (ROCE) ratio.

the third quarter, down 4% from one-year ago due to a cautious market
place. Secure Transactions revenue slipped 6% to 107 million euros as
banking customers maintained strict inventory and cash optimization
measures. Gemalto says the ST business was also due to lower demand in
parts of Central Europe and the Americas. However, deployments of
dual-interface contactless cards in Europe and Asia remained strong. In
the Security business unit revenue slipped by 1% to 53 million euros.
Government Programs revenue grew by 4% during the period, with double
digit growth in EMEA and Asia offset by low demand in the Americas.
Identity and Access Management (IAM) revenue lowered by 18% on the back
of weak enterprises demand, while online banking solutions sales were

million, an adjusted EBITDA net income of $1.5 million and a net profit
of $603,000 for the second quarter ended July 31, 2009. Revenue was down

million; $826,000 cash was generated from operating activities for an

Gemalto’s Second Quarter Revenues Rise 7.4%

Smart card specialist Gemalto reported $620 million in revenue for the second quarter, up 7.4% from one-year ago. For the first six months of 2009, operating income (EBIT) was flat at $106 million. At constant exchange rates, Secure Transactions revenue was up 3% to $170 million driven by further deployment of contactless payment cards, mainly in the EMEA region, offset the effects of inventory optimization measures of many customers. The proportion of personalized card improved again year on year, resulting in a 4% constant-rate increase in the revenue from personalization services. During 2009, Gemalto announced that its personalization service was chosen to support the NFC pilot in Singapore by Citibank, M1 mobile and Visa. In addition to successes in EMV migration projects and growth in personalization services, Gemalto also continues to gain market traction with its innovative offers, such as the selection by Nigeriaâs “InterSwitch” for its “Instant Issuance” offer, and Franceâs LCL for its web-based photo-customization solution. Gemalto’s Operating Income Doubles in 2008

Gemalto reported a strong performance in 2008. The Companyâs top-line
expanded by 6% at constant exchange rates, with revenue from software
and services growing by 44% at constant rates to account for nearly 10%
of the Company turnover. Operating margin was 10.1%, above the level
that the Company had set for itself to achieve at the outset of the
combination that created Gemalto. Telecom operators in Europe and the
Americas placed significant reorders after a particularly successful
2007 year-end campaign, and the Company recorded strong sales in Asia

Gemalto Revenues Climb 10% in 1H/2008

Smart payment card specialist Gemalto reports that revenue grew 10% for
the first half of this year, at constant exchange rates, with all major
segments posting double digit growth. The Secure Transactions unit
returned to operating profit, posting a positive operating margin of
8.5% for the first six months of 2008. The growth was driven by the
continuing roll out of EMV and contactless payment systems mainly in
Europe, Asia and Latin America. This good performance more than
compensated for lower Pay TV and Transport revenue, a consequence of
Gemalto’s selective approach to tenders. Personalization services also
reported a strong growth of 34%, driven by EMV deployments and
associated services in existing and emerging markets. In France, the
Pegasus group of five major banks (BNP-Paribas, CrÃ©dit Agricole-LCL,
CrÃ©dit Mutuel-CIC, Caisse dâEpargne, and La Banque Postale Group)

The Trintech Group has reported its 4Q07 revenues and performance
ended January 31, 2008 showing an adjusted EBITDA income of
$595,000 and a net loss of $706,000. Among other information
reflected in the release, following the Company’s acquisition of Movaris,
was Trintech’s reported 19% revenue growth of $8.9 million, a total
annual revenue growth of 28% since 2006, a gross margin growth by
nearly 1 million to $6.4 million in the quarter and a total annual gross
margin of $22.2 million. Moreover, Trintech reduced its expenditure in
research by 17% to $1.2 million, reduced annual reduction in research
costs by 1% to $4.9 million, increased expenditure in marketing by 60%
to $2.7 million, showed a 2007 annual increase of 51% in marketing
expenditure to $10.7 million, an adjusted EBITDA income of $595,000
for 4Q07, and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $327,000 for the fiscal year.
