NY-based CardFlight, a specialist in mobile point of sale (POS) technology, has corralled $4.2 million in Series A funding. The financing will enable CardFlight to continue to grow its engineering team and accelerate the rollout of their EMV-approved mobile payment acceptance solutions in the U.S.
NY-based CardFlight reports its suite of mobile solutions has been certified by First Data to accept EMV “chip card” payments.
The Payment Alliance International (PAI) and CardFlight have inked a deal for EMV mobile POS (mPOS). PAI will offer CardFlight’s EMV mPOS acceptance solutions to its market partner distribution network and merchant customers nationwide.

While a number of payments startups are focused on online and e-commerce payments, CardFlight focuses on the 90% of credit card transactions that are ‘card present’ and happen in person. Additionally, CardFlight clients are typically vertical solution providers or large and medium-sized merchants, in contrast to companies that only provide closed mobile payment offerings that do not allow customization or white-labeling.
