FIS Names New Board Member, Reelects Chairman

FIS named 25-year FIS veteran and current President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Gary A. Norcross to its board. Having assumed the role of President and COO on March 30, 2012, Norcross is responsible for the steering and execution of the company’s global business strategy. Prior to his current role, Norcross held several leadership positions within the company and was instrumental in the 2009 acquisition and integration of Metavante Technologies, Inc. He was also instrumental in the acquisition of leading organizations such as Certegy and eFunds and more than 15 other companies, helping to grow FIS to more than 35,000 employees with over $5.8 billion in annual revenue. Norcross is active in the local North Florida community and serves on the Dean’s Executive Advisory Board for the Sam M. Walton School of Business at the University of Arkansas.

TSYS Appoints Group Execs

TSYS announced the addition of Dennis Jones joins as Group Executive of Business Operations, TSYS International, along with Rick Machold as Group Executive, Assistant General Auditor, TSYS. Jones will oversee the operations teams responsible for account migration, data center and facilities, customer care and production support for TSYS’ international segment. He has held senior executive positions at NatWest and subsequently RBS, including a two-year assignment as Chief Executive Officer at RBS National Bank in the U.S. Meanwhile, Machold will be responsible for providing independent reviews and evaluations of the company’s operations, information systems, controls, major business processes and reporting functions in order to provide recommendations to management, external auditors and the audit committee. He has served as the head of enterprise risk for Invesco LTD. where he designed, implemented and managed the global enterprise risk management process.

GCA to Acquire Western Money Systems in 2010

Las Vegas-based Global Cash Access reported that second quarter revenues rose 3.7% to $173 million. Income from continuing operations in the second quarter was $9.1 million, up 8.4% from the second quarter of 2008. The Company also announced a deal to acquire Western Money Systems for $15 million. WMS is a developer, manufacturer and distributor of cash-handling products to the gaming industry and is one of the top manufacturers and distributors of redemption kiosks to gaming. The transaction is not expected to close until 2010. The Company has observed continued weakness in the markets it serves and believes that weakness will be more prolonged than previously anticipated. The Company now believes that revenue will be at or slightly below the low end of its previously issued expectations for 2009 of between $700 and $730 million. Global Cash Access Rises 26% in 1Q/09

Global Cash Access reported that revenues rose 26% to $182 million in the first quarter. EBITDA increased to $24.0 million from $21.5 million in the same quarter last year, an 11.6% increase. The Companyâs results for the quarter include the operations of Certegy Gaming Services, which was acquired in April of 2008, and Cash Systems, which was acquired in August of 2008. The Board of Directors recently authorized a $25 million share repurchase program. The Company reiterates its expectations for 2009 revenue to be between $700 and $730 million and EBITDA to be between $95 and $101 million. Global Cash Access Revenue Rises 19% in 3Q/08

Global Cash Access reported that revenues rose 19% to $185.1 million in the third quarter. The growth was driven by the acquisitions of Certegy Gaming Services in April and Cash Systems in August. EBITA also rose 19% to $26.1 million. Recently GCA added 20 international casinos including 11 properties in the Czech Republic. During the third quarter GCA signed nine new U.S. casinos including Casino Queen in East St. Louis, Illinois; San Pablo Casino in San Pablo, California; as well as seven locations for Oneida Casino in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Company says it expects full-year revenues in 2008 to be between $670 and $673 million. FIS Third Quarter Revenues Climb 25%

Fidelity National Information Services reported that third quarter
revenue increased 25% to $894 million. Excluding eFunds revenue, revenue
increased 9.4% to $751 million, driven by 25.5% growth
in International, 9.0% growth in Integrated Financial Solutions and 3.7%
growth in Enterprise Solutions. The strong performance in International
was driven by growth in FIS’ core bank processing operation in Germany,
new customer implementations, the company’s Brazilian card processing
joint venture and favorable currency rates. During the quarter, FIS
completed the spin-off of Lender Processing Services. On October 13th

Card processor and issuer Fidelity National Information Services has
completed the previously
announced sale of the operating assets of Certegy Australia to
Flexigroup Limited for $30 million in cash and other
consideration. Based on the current exchange rate and the collection of
accounts receivable which were not included in the sale of assets, FIS
expects to realize incremental net cash of approximately $110 million, with
the majority of the receivables expected to be collected within 18 months.

McKinley Replaces Kennedy on Equifax Board

Digital, to its Board of Directors, as Lee A. Kennedy, Larry L. Prince and

Chief Technology Officer and President, AOL Digital Services. Prior
thereto, he served as Executive
President, Head of Global Technology and Services and Chief Technology
Officer for Merrill Lynch & Co; Chief Information and Technology
Officer for General Electric Corporation;
and Partner, Financial Services Technology Practice, for Ernst & Young
International. He is a graduate of the Wharton School.
The company’s Board will consist of ten directors, including eight
independent directors. L. Phillip Humann will
assume the role of Presiding Director and will also chair the Board’s
Executive Committee and Compensation, Human Resources & Management
Succession Committee. Robert D. Daleo will chair the Finance Committee,
Siri S. Marshall will chair the Governance Committee and Richard F. Smith
will join the Finance Committee. Mark B. Templeton will move from the
Finance Committee to the Compensation, Human Resources & Management
Succession Committee.

Global Cash Access Closes on Certegy Deal

Global Cash Access has closed the acquisition of Certegy Gaming Services from Fidelity National Transaction Services. GCA acquired all of CGS’s issued shares of stock for a purchase price of $25 million. CGS is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of GCA. As part of the acquisition, GCA will replace all of the cash that was held in CGS’s ATM machines and booths at its customer locations. GCA provides nearly 1,000 gaming properties worldwide with technology and services. CGS provides similar cash access services to approximately 130 gaming properties in the U.S. and the Caribbean.

Global Cash Access has signed a deal to acquire Certegy Gaming Services from Fidelity National Transaction Services. GCA will acquire all of CGS’ issued shares of stock for a purchase price of $25 million, and CGS will become a wholly owned GCA subsidiary. In addition, GCA will replace CGS’ cash currently held in CGS’ ATM machines and cages located at its customer premises. GCA will gain approximately 100 new employees as a result of the acquisition. CGS provides cash access services to approximately 130 gaming properties in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Goldman, Sachs & Co. acted as financial advisor to GCA and Morrison & Foerster LLP acted as legal advisor to GCA.

United Way Seeks Pennies from Card Transactions

United Way of America has launched a national program to automatically donate one penny for each credit or debit card transaction. The new “Pennies for Change” initiative has been implemented by NY-based Westchester Federal Credit Union, the first financial institution to offer the program. The launch was enabled by the card processor Covera Card Solutions. Twelve additional banks and credit unions have joined the “Pennies for Change” program as “Charter Members” and currently considering future deployment. “Charter Members” include: FORUM CU; First Federal Bank; Mutual Federal Savings Bank; Northeast CU; Western Reserve Bank; Superior FCU; The Milford National Bank and Trust Company; CTCE FCU; Maryland Bank & Trust Company; Flagship Community Bank; Southwest Community FCU; and North Texas Bank. The United Way says donations generated by the new program will be directed to United Way programs in local communities.

Acquirers & ISOs Face Margin Compression

A new report from Aite Group titled “The State of the Merchant Acquiring Industry” looks at the impact of discount rates and interchange in the merchant acquiring space, reviews vendors, samples acquirers’ portfolios and PCI DSS compliance. The report also considers the future of acquiring revealing that margin compression is the most important challenge facing merchant acquirers and ISOs today, being a leading concern for 73% of those surveyed. As the industry enters a commoditization phase, more and more acquirers and ISOs feel that they have to engage in a price war in order to acquire potential customers or retain current ones. Further, the change will force acquirers and ISOs to focus on other revenue-generating factors, such as products and administrative fees.
