Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) is expanding its Sadeem fuel card program with the help of MasterCard and NEC Payments. At the centre of the project is a next generation technical solution developed, hosted and managed by NEC Payments.

Both co-brand cards offer Virgin America guests and Elevate® frequent flyer program members a host of perks to make their travel experience more convenient, flexible and rewarding. Under terms of the multiyear agreement, Alliance Data will partner with Virgin America to provide a full suite of credit and marketing services for the Virgin America Visa Signature Card and will leverage its full suite of acquisition tools along with its marketing and analytics expertise to drive cardholder spend and further support one-to-one customer engagement.

Fiserv has launched its www.spotpay.com, a new website for small businesses to learn more about and enroll in the “SpotPay” mobile card reader and RDC solution. This lets financial institutions to offer small business account holders an anywhere, anytime mobile solution to accept both card and check payments from a smart phone with the durable and secure SpotPay reader. Small businesses that enroll at www.spotpay.com will automatically be matched to their participating financial institution. Additionally, their financial institution will receive all the benefits of the enrollment, including co-branding and incentives, allowing them to realize strong returns on investment. If the SpotPay user’s bank or credit union isn’t yet a SpotPay member, the merchant will be enrolled directly until their financial institution joins SpotPay.
MasterCard Worldwide has appointed Kevin Goldmintz as head of Hong Kong & Macau. Goldmintz joined MasterCard in 2004 and was initially based in Hong Kong, where he successfully launched the joint MasterCard-Citi Commercial Card business in more than seven markets in Asia Pacific. He moved to Australia in 2007 to lead the Citi Australia account which includes Citi’s largest commercial card business in Asia Pacific. He was also responsible for signing MasterCard’s first ever airline co-branding deal in Australia with Emirates airline. He worked as a Product Manager for ANZ Bank, one of the largest commercial card issuers in Australia, managing the SME portfolio-the largest SME card portfolio in the country- and led the Qantas-ANZ airline co-branded card project and was responsible for the overall relationship with Qantas.
HSBC has agreed to sell its card and retail services business in the United States to Capital One, which consists of HSBC’s monoline US credit card and private label credit card business. Included in the sale are the Business’s MasterCard, Visa, private label and other credit card operations. The products of the Business are offered throughout the United States primarily via strategic affinity and co-branding relationships, merchant relationships, direct mail and via the internet. All HSBC employees in the Business will be offered the opportunity to join the Purchaser. The Business to be sold however does not include HSBC Bank USA’s US$1.1bn credit card program. The Business being sold has performed strongly through the financial cycle but it is not aligned with HSBC Group strategy.

RoyalBank has implemented the Compass Plus “TranzWare” solutions to launch its own transaction processing center. The launch of the RoyalBank “RoyalCard” in-house processing center lets the bank expand its card business, reducing transaction operation costs and cut card time-to-market. The processing system includes “TranzWare” Fraud Analyzer that monitors and prevents fraudulent transactions, ensuring the security of its operations. The TranzWare processing system manages multiple remote service channels, such as enabling customers to settle payments and manage their finances using the Internet and mobile devices. The highly flexible architecture and single-integration structure of TranzWare products enable effective use of applications in a broad spectrum of business environments and are PCI DSS and PA DSS compliant.
