MasterCard announced that Deborah Heng has been appointed group head and general manager of Singapore to lead all aspects of MasterCard’s business expansion efforts in Singapore, working with banks, non-financial institutions and key merchants to drive business results. In her 14 years with MasterCard, Ms. Heng has overseen diverse strategic business deals, delivering against aggressive revenue targets and managing investment budgets across varied geographies – first in Finance for the Asia Pacific region, followed by the Europe region, after which she moved to roles in Customer Relationship Management and Business Development based in Singapore. Prior to this appointment, her most recent role was Division Finance Officer for MasterCard, South East Asia and South Asia. Heng holds a Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Nottingham, UK.
C-SAM secure mobile transactions technology offering a range of mobile-based applications for financial as well as non-financial services announced Kurt Weiss and Conrad Sheehan have joined the company as managing director of global financial institutions and vice president and general manager of strategic initiatives, respectively. Weiss will work closely with financial institutions and networks deploying C-SAM’s mobile transaction platform that enables NFC, QR, cloud and remote payments, as well as location-based services. Sheehan will be responsible for global strategy and the implementation of key international projects for C-SAM. Weiss previously worked at Citigroup as the Director of Digital Networks & Mobile for the Fortune 20 Bank’s Citi Enterprise Payments group where he was responsible for the commercialization of digital network payment ecosystems leveraging Citigroup’s core payments infrastructure on a global basis. Sheehan founded mPayy Inc., an electronic payment company focused on NFC-stored value payments for transit authorities and private sector companies (the company was later licensed to NTT DATA where he then led North America payments solutions).

Chase Card Services and Amazon.com launched a feature on the Amazon.com Rewards Visa Card that provides cardmembers the opportunity to use rewards points to pay on Amazon.com. Cardmembers may now use Amazon Shop with Points to redeem rewards points at checkout. Each point cardmembers earn can be redeemed for one cent, meaning 100 points can be redeemed for one dollar. The Amazon.com Rewards Card from Chase offers cardmembers three points for every $1 spent on Amazon.com purchases; two points for every eligible $1 spent on gas, restaurants, drug stores and office supply stores; and one point for every $1 spent everywhere else. There is no expiration date on points and no cap on the number of points earned.

Cardtronics non-bank owner of ATM will now be separated into “Network and Financial Services” and “ATM Services” business units to facilitate more productive operations. With this, a number of executive appointments have taken place, including Rick Updyke as the role of President of the combined United States Business Group; Ben Psillas as Executive VP and Division Executive for the Company’s Network and Financial Services business unit. In addition to Cardtronics’ Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network, this business unit will include other products and services, including the Company’s bank branding and financial institution managed services offerings, as well as future products and services designed to leverage the Company’s network of prime retail ATM locations. Meanwhile, Tres Thompson will become Executive Vice President and Division Executive for the Company’s ATM Services business unit to oversee expanding the Company’s domestic retail ATM network and for implementing strategic initiatives to further leverage and grow the revenues generated by the Company’s domestic ATMs.
