Diebold reached an agreement to acquire Cryptera A/S, one of the world’s leading companies in the research and development of secure payment technologies. Cryptera will help expand Diebold’s leadership position in ATM security solutions and drive future innovation and excellence in the EPP space. Cryptera was founded in 1985 and has sold more than one million payment solutions globally. It is the top supplier of PIN pads for some of the world’s top manufacturers of ATMs, petrol pumps, self-service and self-checkout devices. Under the agreement, Cryptera will operate as a separate business with its own business plans and scope, and will continue to be an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of EPP solutions for Diebold and its other existing customers globally. Diebold will leverage Cryptera’s development and product capabilities to expand its OEM customer base and drive thought leadership in security throughout the self-service industry.

Founded in 2008, the company has seen continuous growth with its breakthrough payment solutions. The new name of AltaPay is to underline the company’s new global ambitions.

The special financing program is currently available for purchases at select PANDORA concept stores nationwide, and will expand to more retail locations in early 2012.
American Express Foreign Exchange Services will provide a range of Currency Exchange services to travelers at Boston Logan International Airport. With this, six permanent Currency Exchange locations and a mobile cart will serve the 4 million annual international travelers throughout the check-in area, landside arrivals, orientation area, and airside departures within the terminals with the seventh permanent location to be open soon. Services will include foreign cash sales and buybacks; prepaid products such as American Express Travelers Cheques sales and encashments, and American Express Gift Cards; and Travel Insurance.
American Express foreign exchange and credit card company opened its first foreign exchange bureau at Copenhagen Airport, and another two American Express locations will open in the transit area in Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 respectively within the next few weeks. In addition to buying and selling cash in virtually any currency, the three new American Express bureaux will also offer an online service allowing the company’s corporate customers to pre-order foreign exchange for their trip. The bureaux will also offer a number of other services such as selling and cashing American Express travellers cheques, information to American Express card holders and sales of pre-paid international phone cards.

President Festus G. Mogae of Botswana has been appointed to the MasterCard Foundation Board of Directors. President Mogae’s career is distinguished by achievements that advanced economic and social progress in Sub-Saharan Africa. President Mogae led the Republic of Botswana from 1998 to 2008. In 2009 President Mogae accepted the position of Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General on Climate Change, a role that culminated with his participation in the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. President Mogae spent the past year as the African President-in-Residence at Boston University’s African Presidential Archives and Research Center. He also served as Vice President, Minister of Finance and Development Planning, and Permanent Secretary to the President and was the Alternate Governor for Botswana at The International Monetary Fund, The World Bank and The African Development Bank.
