Western Union launched its Gold Prepaid Card with VISA International and UnionBank of the Philippines. This will allow the cardholder to direct Western Union Money Transfer transactions directly onto the card by sending a text message, calling a customer-service hotline, visiting Western Union’s website or visiting a Western Union Agent location. The Western Union Gold Prepaid Card will introduce many Filipinos to the financial mainstream in a nation where, according to the World Bank, just 27 percent of adults over the age of 15 have bank accounts. In addition to remittances, cardholders can load their paychecks, government payments, their own cash and other earnings directly onto the card. It requires no minimum balance and includes a loyalty program.
MasterCard Europe and PrePay Solutions (PPS) are announcing the availability in the autumn of a unique end-to-end prepaid mobile payment platform in Europe. This new service is aimed at any company (telecommunication operators, financial institutions, retailers, others) wanting to distribute a Mobile PayPass prepaid serviceMobile prepaid accounts are of particular appeal to consumers wanting to experience mobile payments for the first time with full control over their finances and spending. PPS’ comprehensive service will be available in across Europe and will address everything from traditional issuance and processing, compliance and supply-chain management to fraud and customer-service support.
Ingenico payment devices and services and The Phoenix Group (TPG) POS terminals and solutions forged a multi-year distribution agreement, enabling TPG to market and sell Ingenico’s next generation Telium series POS devices to independent sales organizations (ISOs). Emerging EMV chip-based, contactless, and NFC-based payments means both companies are making a strategic investment to offer the latest Telium POS technology and solutions to ISOs. Now TPG will market and distribute Ingenico’s complete Telium range of products including iPP220 & iPP320 PIN pads, iCT220 & iCT250 countertop terminals, and iWL220 & iWL250BL (bluetooth) wireless devices. In addition, TPG will house a swap pool of the Telium devices in an effort to provide the most comprehensive customer service and a timely response to customer service requests. As part of their repair and services, TPG will perform key injections and downloads.
TSYS has entered into a long-term agreement with BancorpSouth, a regional bank holding company with $13.0 billion in assets and 286 locations primarily in the southern United States. BancorpSouth provides traditional retail banking services along with credit card, mortgage, investment, insurance, trust and fiduciary services. It has selected TSYS to process its debit card and consumer and commercial credit card portfolios with a conversion scheduled for early 2012. In addition, TSYS will support card and statement production as well as fraud prevention services.
Western Union global payments and 7-Eleven convenience retailer forged a prepaid agreement to offer consumers Western Union “MoneyWise General Purpose Reloadable” prepaid card at 7-Eleven store locations in 2012. The Western Union “MoneyWise Prepaid Card” will be a new service option for consumers who already purchase Western Union money orders at more than 6,000 U.S. 7-Eleven retail locations. The agreement also positions 7-Eleven as the largest retail seller of the Western Union MoneyWise prepaid reloadable card product in the U.S.
Bob Kellum has been promoted Group Executive of TSYS Output Services and will now oversee the daily operations of statements, cards, correspondence and specialty printing production, plus strategic planning for the Output Services Division. A 22-year TSYS veteran, Kellum was most recently a senior director, responsible for distributed systems and production support for both domestic and international platforms. He also has experience in various management roles supporting major clients in relationship management. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Columbus State University.
Radiant Systems announced a new agreement with Kwik Trip petroleum and convenience store retailer. With this, they will equip its sites with the company’s Radiant POS “RPOS” software. Radiant POS increases the speed of transactions, both inside the store and outside at the pump, to deliver a faster and more enjoyable customer experience. In addition, Radiant’s open, proven platform provides Kwik Trip with a solution that can support future growth initiatives, including more advanced marketing capabilities, food service and car wash. The power of Radiant’s software will allow Kwik Trip to incorporate each of these functions without sacrificing security or transaction speed.
Radiant Systems has signed agreements with the NFLâs Jacksonville Jaguars to implement its “Quest Venue Management” software and hardware in the concession stands and restaurants of EverBank Field. With this, Radiant will also deploy its “CounterPoint” POS for retail operations throughout the Stadium. EverBank Field will implement Radiantâs “Quest POS” software and hardware, including the wireless POS solution, within its standard and premium concessions and its three restaurants before the start of regular 2010-11 season play. The Team will also deploy the Radiant “P1515” and “P1560” wireless terminals running “CounterPoint” retail POS software within its retail and souvenir operations.
