The Company, which offers digital payments and secure savings, doubled also doubled its gold vault value between June 5 and June 30 to C$2,993, 400.

First West Credit Union signed Interac Flash to contactless, tap-and-go technology feature on its debit cards.Interac Flash is a new contactless enhancement of Interac Chip debit cards that enables cardholders to make everyday small value purchases faster by simply holding their card up to a supporting reader. First West will be rolling out Interac Flash and Instant Card Issuance, the ability to create personalized cards in branch for members, in a phased approach at two of its Envision Financial branches. Beginning in mid-June, a limited number of these cards will be available at the Willoughby branch in Langley and High Street branch in West Abbotsford. A greater roll-out is planned for Envision Financial members this fall and to Valley First and Enderby & District Financial members in 2015.

Cineplex Entertainment now offers guests the option to use PayPal when purchasing tickets to a movie or other form of entertainment at Cineplex Entertainment theatres. A PayPal account can be used to purchase tickets from www.Cineplex.com, the Cineplex Mobile Apps, or through its mobile site m.cineplex.com. From February 10-17, 2011, guests who purchase $20 CAD or more in tickets for Cineplex theatres using their PayPal account will receive $10 CAD cash back to their PayPal account. This allows guests to complete transactions using their PayPal account balance, bank account or credit card. When purchasing a ticket for a movie or an event at Cineplex Entertainment theatres, guests can select PayPal as the payment option after they have chosen the show time and entered the quantity of tickets. They are then transferred to PayPal’s secure Web site where they then log in to their PayPal account and confirm the transaction.

PayPal Canada has launched “PayPal Website Payments Pro” product suite that allows e-commerce
merchants to offer shoppers the ability to pay with their PayPal
account using their credit cards, or by phone, fax or mail.
“Website Payments Pro” features three new functions: Express
Checkout, Direct Payment API and Virtual Terminal.
Website Payments Pro has no set up fee, no cancellation fee, and until
the end of the year no monthly fee, after which it is $35 a month.
“Express Checkout helps buyers with PayPal accounts
pay for items in just three clicks on a merchant’s website. “Direct Payment” enables
buyers who don’t have PayPal accounts to let merchants accept credit card transactions just as they
would with traditional Internet merchant accounts and “Virtual Terminal”,
a new feature that supports phone, fax and mail orders by
providing merchants with an online interface to manually enter
credit card transactions through the PayPal system.
The West Virginia AG is seeking to crack down on collection scammers
that prey on consumers with threats to collect on unpaid payday loans.
The AG warned the public about a band of scam artists making threats to
consumers who allegedly obtained Internet payday loans across the
nation. The consumers they threaten never obtained a loan
at all or paid it off years ago. The scam artists have used names like
“U.S. National Bank,” “Federal Investigation Bureau,” “United
Legal Processing” and other phony names. The allegedly threatened
consumers that they will be arrested for “bank fraud” or other
fictitious crimes unless money is wired immediately. The scammers have
also used abusive and illegal collection tactics.
