Foregenix Qualified Security Assessor published its white paper outlining the benefits of End-to-End Encryption (E2EE or Point to Point Encryption) for magnetic stripe card transactions and how this can be achieved with CreditCall’s CardEase Ultra service. In it are highlights on how E2EE combats cardholder data theft, where sensitive card information is compromised by computer hackers once the data enters the POS system or while cardholder data is in transit on a Merchant’s network. Moreover, its “CardEase Ultra” uses an encrypting mag-stripe reader to strongly encrypt the card data as soon as it’s read from the magnetic stripe and provides secure card tokenisation allowing future transactions, full or partial refunds without the card needing to be present.
Liaison Technologies announced that its “Liaison Protect” Tokenization-as-a-Service (TaaS) solution is garnering high marks from companies that need to comply with the PCI DSS. Liaison marketed its cloud-based managed “Format Preserving Tokenization” service when it announced Liaison Protect TaaS, giving customers a choice on how to tokenize any type of confidential information. Liaison teamed up with Verizon Business to offer tokenization on Verizon’s Computing as a Service (CaaS) platform, the first cloud-based solution to successfully complete the PCI DSS audit for storing, processing and transmitting credit card information.
Two of Semtek’s national retail clients have been awarded Reports of Compliance (ROC) from their PCI Qualified Security Assessors. Semtek’s encryption solutions, in these retail cases marketed under the brand name “VeriShield Protect” and installed within the TRSM of VeriFone payment terminals paired with Semtek’s Cipher Decryption Services, supported on the TNS network or in the merchant’s own data center, were subject to the payment industry’s mandatory PCI DSS auditing requirements. Both merchants received successful ROC and have been recognized by their merchant acquirers and the PCI DSS auditing body. Semtek focuses on resolving the security vulnerabilities of magnetic stripe, contactless, and EMV based payment systems.
