AnywhereCommerce, a global payments technology provider, has named Debra McAteer as vice president of sales for US resellers and ISOs. McAteer will oversee the company’s channel initiatives, and work directly with AnywhereCommerce’s network of merchant acquirers, ISOs and payment processors across the country. Prior to joining AnywhereCommerce, McAteer served as vice president of sales for major accounts at Equinox, where she spent the past 13 years. Prior to her time at Equinox, she served in sales capacities at Linkpoint, and at First Data.
UK POS is encouraging retailers to send in a snap of their summer display to be in with the chance of winning £250 worth of vouchers. The competition is open to all independent retailers across the UK and Ireland who think their efforts could capture the attention of the nation. Independent Retailer Month is a global campaign, encouraging the public to take advantage of local stores, and highlighting the important roll independent retailers play in their communities. They also contribute to the local economy and the retail sector as a whole. Independent retailers can enter the competition using Twitter by sending the photo directly to the UK POS account (@ukposgroup). Only one entry will be counted per retailer, but multiple photos of the same window display can be sent – the more the merrier. Winners will be selected by Jason Leslie, managing director of UK POS and Debra Jamieson.
Dunlop Adhesives has revealed why it chose to team up with Greater Manchester-based manufacturer UK Point of Sale when promoting a rebrand earlier this year. When launching new packaging, Dunlop Adhesives sought to develop a suite of point of sale which was specifically tailored to educate shoppers and allow them to navigate the repackaged products as easily and quickly as possible. As part of its rebrand strategy, the firm teamed up with UK Point of Sale to provide high-quality shelf-edge leaflet holders intended to boost cross-selling opportunities and provide consumer education by highlighting the QR codes printed on the new packaging, as well as DL leaflet holders to dispense product selector leaflets and shelf barkers.

The partnership enables the Seos digital keys applet to be embedded in Oberthur Technologies NFC SIM cards, making it possible to use NFC smartphones for a wide range of applications that typically reside on smart cards. Oberthur Technologies´ dragonFly product family is a new generation of NFC SIM cards that combine speed and include best-in-class certifications (Common Criteria EAL4+, MasterCard, Visa, MIFARE DESFire™) and integrated anti-virus protection. The solution supports key applications driving NFC deployments such as transport, payment and access control. It also supports applications that facilitate a more convenient user experience, such as the use of a mobile phone for hotel check-in and hotel room access.
EastPay has appointed Debra Arai, AAP, as Director of Risk Management Services. Her primary responsibilities include conducting ACH Compliance Audits, ACH Risk Assessments, and Remote Deposit Capture Risk Reviews. She is also the Product Manager for EastPay’s ProceduresNow! software suite and provides ACH Rules interpretation support to members of the Regional Payments Association. HID Global and Sony jointly developed contactless smart card reader platform that embeds secure access control capabilities and Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality into laptops and other mobile devices. The platform holds a secure element that stores cryptographic keys which secure the authenticity and integrity of user credentials. It supports widely used contactless technologies for applications ranging from physical access control and identity assurance at the desktop to transit-fare, point-of-sale collection and loyalty programs. The jointly developed NFC global reader platform is the result of a strategic partnership that Sony and HID Global announced last year.
