PIN Data Also Stolen From Target

Target confirmed this afternoon that some of the data stolen involved PIN data. This data is encrypted and isn’t expected to compromise cardholder accounts, however its not welcoming news to the millions that shop and used their REDcard. Target is currently working with investigators to understand how the breach happened and fully understand what information, encrypted or not, was compromised. Payworks Launches Chip & PIN mPOS

payworks mpayment introduced its mobile Chip & PIN solution, allowing processing of major credit cards as well as local debit card schemes. payworks’ mPOS infrastructure gives payment providers compliance with PCI DSS and payment acceptance with a smartphone or tablet, complete with a secure PIN entry device, for both EMV Chip and magnetic stripe cards. Instead of deploying the solution to merchants directly, payworks opens up its Chip & PIN infrastructure to providers of mobile Point of Sale solutions enabling them to run the fully compliant technology under their own brand. The PIN entry device is PCI-PTS certified and reads both EMV chip and magnetic stripe of the credit or debit card.

Integrapark was an early adopter of SIX Card Solutions token solution in 2007 to reduce card security risks and PCI-DSS scope for its clients processing recurring monthly parker fees. Use of tokens eliminates storing sensitive card data on clients PARIS servers. Instead of sensitive card data, PARIS server stores proprietary tokens (dummy numbers) issued by SIX Card Solutions. Tokens are then used to create the recurring transactions for monthly parker fees. Sensitive card data is stored on SIX Card Solutions secure PCI-DSS compliant centrally hosted systems. PARIS now supports SIX Card Solutions End-to-End Encryption solution in addition to the token solution.

YESpay Launches Mobile NFC Payment Solution

Inversiones Platco Deploys Hypercom Encryption

Hypercom announced that Inversiones Platco electronic payment network will immediately make available Hypercom’s EFTSec P2P payment data encryption protection to member banks and more than 46,000 merchant customers. EFTSec encrypts cardholder data during transaction processing, starting at the payment terminal and ending at a trusted point where the data is decrypted. EFTSec is the industry standard for payment terminal initiated link encryption in Asia and is used by major banks with combined assets of nearly US$200 billion, and is licensed to and implemented by several major terminal manufacturers in Asia.
