The Electronic Payments Association says its Payments Innovation Alliance has launched a Mobile Wallet Initiative to enable stakeholder companies and the broader mobile wallet community to leverage an “open” acceptance platform that includes support for retailer- and bank-branded mobile wallets for electronic payments.

Accurate testing and validation of both contact (EMV) and contactless and mobile MasterCard PayPass cards is vital to the global interoperability of payment cards. PIVOT is maintained against the latest network standards to help card developers, issuers and bureaux ensure that their MasterCard payment products are personalized correctly. This new update sees the addition of almost 250 new card tests as well as a fully programmable card analyzer and data validator.

CSR and Intel, formerly Associate Members, have raised their membership status to the Principal level. Since its founding in 2004, the NFC Forum has drawn market-leading organizations from around the world to its membership roster as momentum builds for the adoption and implementation of Near Field Communication technology. Principal membership is the second-highest level of membership in the NFC Forum. Each Principal member is subsequently entitled to appoint a voting representative to each of the Technical, Marketing, and Compliance Committees and Working Groups.
