Jack Henry Q1 Revenues Increase by 11%

MO-based Jack Henry reported first calendar quarter revenue of $187.9 million and 11% increase over the year ago quarter. Net income totaled $26.6 million, a 1% gain over the first quarter of last year. The growth was driven primarily by in-house support and maintenance which is up 13% for the quarter and 15% year to date and electronic payments which is up 28% for the quarter and 32% year-to-date over the prior year periods. EFT/Debit card transaction processing is up 22% year-to-date, on-line bill pay is up 55% and the Company’s merchant remote deposit capture is up 160% over the prior year. KS-based EPIQ Systems reported third quarter revenues for bankruptcy services of $9.2 million and gross profit of $6.7 million. EPIQ Systems, Inc. develops, markets and licenses proprietary software solutions for workflow management and data communications infrastructure that serve the bankruptcy trustee market and financial services market.

In its first earnings report as a publicly traded company, eFunds Corporation reported Friday second quarter revenues of $101.0 million. Electronic Payment Solutions second quarter revenues increased 22.6% to $72.1 million. Higher inquiry volume coupled with a price increase, increased full-service collections activity, the DebitBureau agreement with the information solutions provider, and higher software sales contributed to second quarter growth, with risk management products seeing the highest growth. EFT transaction volume increased 16.6% over the second quarter of 1999 and 19.6% over the first six months of 1999.
