Gemalto has partnered with Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) to enable Gemalto Mobile Financial Services on TI’s “OMAP” platform and “M-Shield” security technology for mobile devices. Gemalto’s Mobile Financial Services runs on TI’s OMAP platform trusted execution environment, which includes Trusted Logic’s Trusted Foundations(TM). This secure environment provides protection for financial based applications stored and used on leading smartphones built with the TI OMAP processor equipped with M-Shield(TM) security technology. Applications can be secured with strong two-factor authentication – verifying the user and the phone – which requires the user to enter securely a personal identification number (PIN) prior to gaining access to financial services applications.
GOTrust Technology has introduced the “KingCall” comprehensive VoIP encryption application that
uses a very special microSD (SDencrypter) containing a high-performance
smart card chip and high-speed communication interfaces to protect
mobile phone communication1. All the encryption and decryption is done
inside the SDencrypter so it does not impact the performance of the
phone and also prevent any possibilities of a Trojan virus stealing
encryption keys. “KingCall” uses a microSD module loaded into unmodified
3G smart phones provided by existing phone service operators; making
“KingCall” very simple and economical to deploy over a wide user base.
GO-Trust provides embedded hardware chip security and applications in microSD smart card
devices that support high-speed communication.
UK-based NDS digital pay-TV technology solutions has made available its
“VideoGuard Pre-Paid” conditional access (CA) add-on module. Offering
customers more payment options at minimal cost, “VideoGuard Pre-Paid”

technology. The files are stored on SanDisk “TrustedFlash” cards and can
only be read by GlobalPlatform-compliant mobile devices, 75% of which in
the market are compatible with the new solution. Calton Hill provides
security critical software and contributed significantly to the
development of GlobalPlatform STIP Specifications, which is a member
driven association providing smart card infrastructure development for
cards, devices and systems to organizations around the world.
GlobalPlatform has published a white paper entitled “Why the Mobile
Evolving Towards Security” which discusses the importance of its GPD/STIP
Specifications and the Device Application Security Management (DASM)
Specifications to mobile telecom and handset deployment. The paper addresses
the interoperability, flexibility, reactivity and security of the open
which is designed to protect applications from different providers
within a multi-
application environment. GPD/STIP also is capable of expediting the
of secure applications on one handset, such as transport ticketing and
management (DRM), according to the report. GlobalPlatform is a leader in
card infrastructure development and has set a standard for smart card
