VeriFone has integrated Hypercom international distributors into the VeriFone International Partner (VIP) program, giving distributors access to support resources and a wide array of technology to enhance their ability to deliver the latest payment solutions to their markets. Having completed the Hypercom acquisition August 4, Verifone is now aggressively welcoming Hypercom’s international distributors into the VIP program and work with them to accelerate international growth, increase innovation and build value. VeriFone has revealed plans to grow and enhance all major product lines that existed prior to completing the acquisition and bolster them with the strong VeriFone global brand identity. The VIP program offers Hypercom distributors a wide range of services including in-depth product and sales training and web-based access to exclusive strategic, product and technology information.
VeriFone Systems announced a new direct distribution relationship for retailers, acquirers and processors in Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Austria and Switzerland. These organizations will now be able to obtain products, services, support and value-added solutions directly from VeriFone. This will allow ready access to multiple new and upcoming products and service offerings available directly from VeriFone. Previously, retailers in these countries were limited to the portfolios that local distributors chose to sell and support. Going forward retailers will benefit from a direct sales and support relationship with VeriFone. With its recent acquisition of Hypercom, VeriFone now fields a workforce of more than 500 direct sales, support and engineering personnel on the ground in these countries. VeriFone Systems will expand PayPal payment acceptance in the mobile environment to further integrate online and traditional card-based payments with the VeriFone “PAYware Mobile” card encryption sleeve. This will be enhanced to support PayPal “Bump” technology, in which iPhone users can bump their phones together to transfer money. VeriFone will promote PayPal and “Bump” acceptance to its vast reseller channel PayPal will market. With this partnership, VeriFone can enhance its “PAYware Mobile,” on the “PAYware Connect” payment gateway service to provide merchants with integrated transaction reports for PayPal and traditional card payments.

VeriFone has acquired the assets of WAY Systems mobile POS solutions and gateway services for an upfront payment of $6 million dollars and an earn-out payable in one year of up to an additional $3 million dollars should certain performance targets be met. Providing POS solutions and gateway services for mobile merchants WAY has built up a customer base of more than 25,000 mobile merchants over the past 5 years. VeriFone will immediately take over support of these merchants within its expanding PAYware Connect Gateway infrastructure. Additionally, VeriFone will offer continuous non-stop support for all existing WAY mobile systems, bolstered by VeriFoneâs extensive mobile portfolio, including PAYware Mobile and VX Evolution secure payment systems.
TNS Managed POS Encryption solution coupled with “VeriShield Protect” from VeriFone Systems is being implemented to eliminate the transmission of âclearâ cardholder data within a client’s payment network environment. This is designed to protect its customersâ cardholder data from the POS terminal through to its payment processor, dramatically reducing risk exposure and simplifying the retailerâs ability to achieve PCI compliance. VeriFoneâs “VeriShield Protect” is deployed at the retailerâs POS devices and using encryption technology to secure the information as the card is swiped. The TNS Managed POS Encryption solution transports encrypted transactions through to the TNS PCI DSS certified global backbone network. The solution then manages the decryption process, message formatting and secure delivery of the transaction to the retailerâs payment processor.
VeriFone has nailed a $10 million contract to be a premier payment solutions supplier to Moneris Solutions. Moneris selected EMV- and PCI-approved wireless, countertop and integrated payment solutions from VeriFone’s “Vx Solutions” line. Specifically, the “Vx 810” and “Vx 810 DUET” systems for countertop needs and the GPRS version of the “Vx 670” for handheld needs. Moneris processes more than 3 billion credit and debit card transactions a year, for merchants in virtually every industry segment at more than 350,000 small business and corporate locations across North America.
Heartland Payment Systems has certified VeriFoneâs “ON THE SPOT”
pay-at-the-table managed services solution and is marketing the POS
technology to restaurant customers under the Heartland “Tableside”
brand. Tableside utilizes the VeriFone “Vx 670” handheld system with Wi-Fi and
