Tito Vidaurri is set to Join Bank of America Merrill Lynch as Country Executive of Mexico and will join the emerging markets. Vidaurri, due to join BofA Merrill in April, will be leaving his current position as chief country officer, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank’s Mexican commercial banking and brokerage businesses. Vidaurri’s banking and finance career in the U.S. and Latin America spans more than 25 years, over four years of which were spent at Deutsche Bank after heading Morgan Stanley’s north Latin American investment banking.

Chase Card Services has introduced its “GiftShelf” mobile gift card application through the Apple iTunes App Store, powered by CashStar. The Chase “GiftShelf” facilitates mobile gift card purchases from an array of merchants and allows Chase credit cardmembers to send a gift card to anyone instantly via text message or email. It lets users browse for gift cards from a diverse and growing set of retailers and restaurants. Gift card recipients can use their cards in-store or online instantly with a smart phone or, in some instances, a printed copy of the confirmation email, creating a spontaneous gifting experience. It incorporates a high level of security and encryption technologies similar to ones utilized in Chaseâs mobile banking application and does not store any personal or account information on the device.

The order includes the NCR “SelfServ” ATM family with intelligent cash deposit and recycling functions. Since 2008, NCR has won volume ATM orders from ATMU for three consecutive years totaling more than 3,000 units. Allowing small-to-medium sized banks in China avoid making separate investments in dedicated ATM fleets, the contract features the NCR “SelfServ 22” and “SelfServ 25” models and the NCR “SelfServ 31” and “SelfServ 36” with intelligent cash deposit and recycling capabilities. Some 1, 000 DBS customers with StarHub mobile plans will be the first in Singapore to use the NFC Mobile Payment Solution trial service for everyday mobile payments, which is set to commence in December 2010 and will last for eight months. Organized by DBS Bank, EZ-Link, Gemalto, MasterCard and StarHub, the trial will add an “N-Flex” solution enabling to turn conventional handsets into NFC-enabled mobile phone without any change to the device. The “N-Flex” solution functions on SIM cards across multiple mobile handsets hence helping to accelerate the ubiquity of handsets supporting NFC. The solution is also the first-of-its-kind conforming to the Single Wire Protocol (SWP) as endorsed by the GSM Association (GSMA). The trial will involve a group of participants who will receive an electronic mailer from either StarHub or DBS Bank that contains instructions on how to register their participation online.
