Burret will lead delivery, quality and resource management across three key regions (Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East & Africa). In his new role, Burret will lead and develop the MasterCard Advisors’ consulting team to deliver business intelligence and provide solutions to financial institutions, merchants, governments and other organizations. Meanwhile Eric Schneider will serve as Region Head, who has moved from the U.S. where he served as group head and member of the MasterCard Advisors management team for the U.S. market. Schneider will be based in Singapore, and will oversee MasterCard Advisors’ market operations in the Asia Pacific region.
Bank Mandiri launched Mandiri Mobile POS, in collaboration with goSwiff and its local partner Indopay. mPOS answers to the needs of Mandiri’s customers for security, convenience and reliability in card transactions with Visa and MasterCard. Leveraging goSwiff’s mobile commerce and marketing experience, the new mPOS solution helps Bank Mandiri to bring more payment alternatives to Indonesian merchants and consumers. Indonesian government is encouraging a cashless society by reducing cash transactions, and Mandiri Mobile POS provides one channel for that. The payment on the spot prevents any card misuse by unauthorized parties. Bank Mandiri’s initial pilot to test the mPOS integration with service ordering system was done with Holycow Steak by Chef Afit.
Oberthur Technologies extended its partnership with SIX Payment Services card processor, whereby it will develop debit and bank cards for the bank from 2016 to 2020. SIX Payment Services releases a new chip specification on behalf of the Swiss debit card issuers every four years, followed by the evaluation of two suppliers. OT was selected in 2010 to develop and supply EMVI’12 chips from 2012 to 2016. The new product generation, called EMVI’16, will be issued from 2016 till 2020 and will be based on the specifications of EMVCo CPA (Common Payment Application), MasterCard PayPass and VCPS (Visa Contactless Payment Specification). EMVI’16 will enable the Swiss banks as well as international issuing processing customers of SIX Payment Services to offer Contactless payments on top of standard debit, credit and e-commerce functionality for MasterCard and Visa brands.
FleetCor Technologies fuel cards and workforce payment products has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Comdata from Ceridian for $3.45 billion. Concurrent with the closing of the acquisition, a representative from THL will be appointed to the FleetCor board of directors.Comdata provides fleet, virtual card, and gift card solutions to over 20,000 customers and has approximately 1,300 employees to facilitate over $54 billion in payments annually. Cash payments will be used to pay off Comdata’s outstanding indebtedness.
