Instead of fumbling for notes and coins, travelers in Italy’s second largest city can simply send a text to a standard short code number, with the Netsize system charging the fare directly to the customer’s regular mobile phone bill.

Viseca is one of the largest Swiss credit card and prepaid card issuers for MasterCard and Visa. The company issues cards at the request of banks and corporate customers, and manages all of the processes including authorization, clearing and settlement, and fraud protection. Given the sensitivity of the transactions, Viseca has to ensure absolute data integrity and security by establishing a data safe to protect cardholder master data. SIA and Orange Business Services have signed a collaboration agreement that will enable European and extra-EU banks and merchants to manage payments via mobile point of sale (POS) terminals. Orange Business Services will provide a managed M2M solution with global roaming services enabling remote terminals to automatically transmit data to the SIA technology infrastructure. The agreement will allow SIA to take a significant step forward in the creation of a single operating network at the European level which will collect payments traffic generated by wireless POS terminals and other channels of merchants and then deliver it securely and reliably to the authorization systems of banks, terminal operators and other acquirers. SIA has enabled almost 5,000 mobile POS terminals and plans to reach around 60,000 terminals by the end of the year. These devices can manage transactions coming mainly from European countries (including France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxemburg, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, and United Kingdom) and extra-EU countries, such as South Africa.

In line with the mobile NFC Value Added Services proposal POS terminals from the GSMA, this collaboration between both companies will enable retailers to securely dematerialize coupons and loyalty on an NFC Secure Element. Different products and solutions of OT enable this solution: the dragonFly NFC SIM card which is fast, secure and convenient, an application on the SIM card where the coupons and the loyalty card are stored and a mobile application for the end-user to see what coupons are available and manage them. Thanks to these, subscribers will be able to leverage on Ingenico’s large installed base of NFC embedded terminals across all geographies, managing loyalty triggering and coupons recognition.
