U.S prepaid king Green Dot announced the official opening of Green Dot Shanghai Software Technology. “Green Dot Shanghai” is a new wholly-owned subsidiary of Green Dot Corporation that is located in the Zhangjiang Hi Technology Park in the Pudong district of Shanghai.

Green Dot Corporation announced that its subsidiary bank received required regulatory approvals from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Utah Department of Financial Institutions related to the pending acquisition of the legacy Walmart MoneyCard Portfolio from GE Capital Retail Bank. The consummation of the transaction is subject to closing conditions, including the Department of Justice’s required 15-day waiting period.

Green Dot Corporation announced the United States District Court for the Central District of California dismissed with prejudice the federal securities class action that had been filed against the company, Steven W. Streit and John L. Keatley in July 2012. On May 2, 2013, the Court granted a motion to dismiss all of the claims asserted in that action, and the plaintiffs subsequently agreed to voluntarily dismiss the case with prejudice rather than amend their complaint. No payments were made to the plaintiffs in connection with the dismissal.
