Ingenico has been awarded the first certification in France for an m-acceptance (or mobile acceptance) solution by Cartes Bancaires CB Group. M-acceptance consists in combining a payment solution with mainstream mobile equipment such as a smartphone or tablet, using both communication means and ergonomy to provide for embedded management and check-out applications. A transaction viewing portal has been made available to mCommerce retailers by Ingenico Group. Mobile bank card payments have risen significantly over the last few years. Ingenico Group is a pioneer in the m-acceptance sector with its payment solutions initially connected to the GPRS cellular network and more recently to the 3G network.
Transaction Network Services (TNS) will deploy wireless ATMs for Malaysian Electronic Payment System Sdn Bhd (MEPS). MEPS launched Malaysia’s first non-bank ATM late last year and has ambitious growth plans to roll out the technology across the country, which will see 500 ATMs live by the end of this year and continuous steady growth year on year to 1,580 by 2018 as MEPS rolls out nationwide coverage. TNS will provide its TNSLink solution to handle secure, high-speed transaction transport and ATM communications utilizing advanced encryption algorithms and a PCI DSS certified backbone network.MEPS ATMs support the Malaysian government’s Economic Transformation Programme and Bank Negara Malaysia’s e-Payment Agenda by offering more than just cash withdrawals and balance enquiries. Customers can complete real-time interbank transfers, as well as make credit card and loan repayments.
VeriFone Systems announced that Banco Nacional de Costa Rica (BNCR) has selected VeriFone’s VX Evolution line of portable EMV and NFC capable point of sale terminals to enhance payment mobility and security for merchant customers throughout Costa Rica. BNCR’s migration to VeriFone’s VX Evolution terminals will enable its merchants to accept all types of payments”including traditional mag-stripe as well as EMV and NFC”from customers at and beyond the counter while complying with PCI 3.0 standards. The bank expects to install 14,000 of VeriFone’s VX Evolution terminals each year for the next four years to its installed base of approximately 32,000 Hypercom terminals. BNCR will install PCI 3.0 certified terminals from VeriFone’s VX Evolution product line. They include the VX 520, the VX 675 and the VX 680.
Oberthur Technologies announced massive deliveries of OT’s MultiSIM for O2 in Germany. OT developed the MultiSIM form factor and adjusted it according to Telefónica Germany requirements. From now on, O2customers do not need to worry anymore, as their new SIM card will fit into any mobile phone. If they want to change from one form factor to another, they do not need to ask their operator for a new SIM card, but can just deplug their MultiSIM. The introduction of OT’s MultiSIM by Telefónica Germany is in line with the issuing of SIM-Plugs instead of ID-sized card bodies which allows the recycling of plastics and marks another step toward environmental sustainability.
Ingenico announced the deployment of an innovative fiscal solution, along with its local partner Etranet Group, for Hrvatski Telekom telecommunication services. Further to the implementation of a fiscal law in Croatia, Ingenico in partnership with Etranet group (Croatian specialist in electronic payment transaction systems) and Hrvatski Telekom developed an innovative all-in-one cash register solution combining Ingenico latest generation of payment terminals with fiscal application developed by Etranet Group to equip Hrvatski Telekom customers. The solution is based on Ingenico’s range of wireless and countertop terminals (IWL220 GSM & GPRS and ICT220 GPRS). Thanks to Ingenico’s secure software application, tax information is easily transmitted to Croatian tax administration.
B+S Card Service launched its PCI PTS 3.0 compliant VX820 DUET and VX680 payment terminals to the UK market offering its merchants greater speed and reliability for electronic payments. The VX820 is B+S’s premium class, contactless enabled, countertop terminal with an efficient, compact design whilst the VX680 is its contactless enabled mobile terminal that is highly suitable for use in the hospitality sector. The EMV approved VX820 incorporates a large 3.5″ colour touch screen display, integrated contactless reader and PSTN, ISDN and DSL connectivity options. Merchants can accept both MasterCard PayPass and Visa payWave contactless payments, as well as all major credit and debit cards. This includes China Union PayAmerican Express, Diners, and MasterCard and Visa debit cards. The new terminals operate on B+S’s infrastructure providing merchants with fast, secure and reliable electronic payment acceptance.

VeriFone Systems announced WorldPay electronic payment processing solutions completed its compatibility certification for VeriFone’s “VX 520” countertop payment system. WorldPay will also offer a secure audio card-reader version of VeriFone’s PAYware Mobile for small merchant mobile payments using smartphones, tablets and other smart devices. The “VX 520” of the VX Evolution family offers an advanced countertop payment device and supports VeriShield Total Protect for end-to-end encryption and tokenization. WorldPay is also in process of certifying compatibility of the VX 805 and VX 820 PIN pads and wireless VX 680, which like the VX 520 offer contactless and smart card payment acceptance capabilities that are crucial to emerging NFC wallet technology and EMV compliance. The portable VX 680 is available with WiFi and Bluetooth or GPRS communications for merchants on the move.
