Ingenico announced the deployment of an innovative fiscal solution, along with its local partner Etranet Group, for Hrvatski Telekom telecommunication services. Further to the implementation of a fiscal law in Croatia, Ingenico in partnership with Etranet group (Croatian specialist in electronic payment transaction systems) and Hrvatski Telekom developed an innovative all-in-one cash register solution combining Ingenico latest generation of payment terminals with fiscal application developed by Etranet Group to equip Hrvatski Telekom customers. The solution is based on Ingenico’s range of wireless and countertop terminals (IWL220 GSM & GPRS and ICT220 GPRS). Thanks to Ingenico’s secure software application, tax information is easily transmitted to Croatian tax administration.
Visa launched its plug-and-play mobile money platform, allowing financial institutions and mobile operators to offer bank-grade managed mobile financial services to consumers. This allows Visa to host and fully manage all aspects of a mobile money program on behalf of the provider, from user interface design to consumer enrollment, transactions processing, authorization, clearing and settlement. This can enable domestic-only or globally interoperable mobile money services. Users can access a financial account that is linked to their mobile phone number. From cash-in and -out transactions at agent locations, to paying bills, sending money to relatives, topping-up air time and buying train tickets, consumers can take advantage of bank-grade financial services and Visa-quality payments. Visa’s new platform is designed to comply with the regulatory frameworks established for mobile financial services for mobile network operators and financial institutions to provide local connection to Visa’s global payment network, VisaNet.
Integration of the “Global Money” Ukrainian payment system with “WAY4” payment processing system, developed by OpenWay, allows banks to connect up to 400 types of paid services and develop alternative channels for interacting with clients. The synergy between Global Money and WAY4 system makes the process of starting joint projects with banks significantly easier. Many financial institutions already work on OpenWay’s card processing, allowing the elimination of expenses for reworking the system, while the Global Money payment system has direct contracts with companies to which payments are made. Currently, 24 service providers are available Oschadbank ATM menus.
The Telefónica Group and MasterCard International launched its MFS joint venture to develop mobile payment solutions. MFS’ first product will be a pre-paid account accessed via mobile phones alongside a MasterCard card, which will let consumers transfer cash to other people, make in-store purchases, top-up airtime and carry out other financial transactions. It will primarily focus on the payment requirements of Telefónica Vivo customers who do not have bank accounts, offering them financial inclusion. Cash can be transferred onto pre-paid accounts at mobile phone refill stations, supermarkets and newspaper stands.
Inside Secure launched its “AT90SCR200” EMV-compliant smart card reader microcontroller, allowing developers to more quickly and easily attain EMV level one type approval for their products, an important symbol of quality throughout the industry. The new INSIDE smart card reader microcontroller complies with the EMV 2000 version 4.3 standard and is also pre-certified to all relevant industry standards, including PC/SC, ISO 7816, GIE-CB, GSM, USB FS 2.0 and WHQL. In addition, the AT90SCR200 delivers superior communications speeds and features 100 per cent byte code compatibility with all current INSIDE AT90SCR-series smart card reader microcontrollers. The INSIDE “AT90SCR200” may be used to create a bridge between a contact or contactless smart card (when used with an RF interface) or USB smart card and the host processor in a variety of card-based systems, including contact USB PC-Link smart card readers, smart keyboard, PinPad, embedded readers and laptop smart card readers and conditional access modules.
Net Element, a global technology and publishing company that operates in mobile commerce and payment processing, and Mobile TeleSystems OJSC telecommunications provider partnered to provide payment processing services to MTS’ 100 million-plus subscribers. The agreement, effective as of August 1, 2012, calls for MTS to allow Net Element’s mobile payment platform, TOT Money, to facilitate the payment processing for MTS subscribers. In first month of processing for MTS, TOT Money processed about 80 million rubles (approximately $2.5 million) for MTS customers.
