Epson expanded its POS offering, introducing its “TM-H6000IV,” combining greyscale receipt printing, slip printing and check processing in one compact device with a low total cost of ownership (TCO). The “TM-H6000III,” “TM-H6000IV” features improved power efficiency and reduced paper usage to help retailers lower their overheads and a new remote management feature, easy installation and two interfaces onboard. Retailers can shrink their paper usage by up to 31 per cent with the TM-H6000IV’s paper save feature. With USB included as standard in addition to the changeable second interface, retailers have the freedom to switch to a USB environment at any time.

With this, it uses real-time, high-precision Proximity Correlation Logic that operates at high speed within the transaction authorization, invisibly to the consumer. The ValidSoft platform is powerful enough to support up to 400,000 lookups per second. By correlating the cardholder’s mobile phone with the origination of an ATM or POS transaction, ValidSoft determines if the cardholder is in proximity to the transaction. Epson’s “TM-T88” single-station thermal POS printer has passed the milestone of more than 5.5 million units sold. Ideally suited for restaurant, banking and retail technology printing applications, the “TM-T88-series” POS printer has been an industry benchmark product for nearly 14 years. The POS printer is the number one receipt printer sold worldwide, giving Epson the largest market share of more than 50%1 of the thermal POS printer segment. It also saves electricity and holds the ENERGY STAR2 comliance and boasts the best grey level graphical printing of any thermal printer.
Epson and G3S are set to highlight the qualities of biodegradable and recyclable “BioMedia PET” plastic materials developed by G3S for display and POS graphics. The Epson “Stylus Pro GS6000” inkjet printer will be printing a range of display graphics on BioMedia using eco-solvent type inks on the Epson booth. G3Sâs BioMedia is available in a range of thickness and includes a new coated version for higher image quality. The material incorporates a micro-organism which, in dark and moist conditions, cuts through the polymer chain, accelerating the breakdown of the product so that it biodegrades within 2-5 years.
