Silicon Labs Launches ISOmodem POS Suite
EDOM Technology IC distributor launched Silicon Labs’ “Si24xx” ISOmodem family, featuring lower power, reduced BOM costs and flexible interface options. The “Si24xx” data modem ICs also address voice and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications for security and POS terminals. When combined with Silicon Labs’ “Si3000” voice codec, the “Si24xx” data modems support handset, speakerphone, voice menu and answering machine implementations. Developers can easily add telephony and voice functions to any embedded system, without the need for the dedicated voice processing ICs or host-based DSP software required by legacy approaches. The “ISOmodem” family supports specialized protocols used in security and POS applications.

Silicon Laboratories high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal ICs announced the next generation of its widely used Si24xx ISOmodem family, offering advanced voice features, lower power, reduced BOM costs and flexible interface options for a wide range of data modem applications. The innovative Si24xx data modem ICs address the need for voice and machine-to-machine (M2M) communications for security and home automation systems, smart utility meters, set-top boxes POS terminals and many other electronics systems that connect to the public switched telephone network (PSTN). Standard DTMF generation and detection and user-programmable tone detection and generation give the Si24xx family the flexibility to support non-standard custom protocols through host software.

In doing so, “On-Guard” encrypts and tokenizes card data at the POS and is compatible with Ingenico payment devices that have already been deployed and offers an array of key differentiators such as encrypting sensitive cardholder data from swiped, manually keyed, Contactless and Smartcard data transactions.

MiCash Prepaid MasterCard Partners with FSV
WA-based MiCash has partnered with FSV Payment Systems to market its “MiCash Prepaid MasterCard” which is issued by MetaBank. Through this partnership, MiCash will market the MiCash Prepaid MasterCard card through various distribution channels. This alliance offers immediate benefits with new, real-time tracking and financial reporting, along with processing technology. MiCash is a federally-licensed Money Service Business (MSB) that meets all state and federal laws, including Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy and USA PATRIOT Act regulations. FSV Payment Systems is a provider of host-based stored value and prepaid card solutions.
eFunds to Use AEIS Prepaid STV Card System
eFunds Prepaid Solutions has expanded its relationship with American Express Incentive Services to offer focused-use stored-value cards to customer base. Focused-use card product applications include corporate incentive programs and consumer promotions, as well as flexible spending accounts and health care savings accounts. AEIS has a patented filtering process for such stored-value cards. For example last year AEIS introduced the “Agent Reward Card” for real estate agents which offers recipients rewards from their choice of 90 name-brand retail and travel merchants. AEIS also introduced “The Rebate Edition Card,” which is designed to incent home buyers and sellers and the “Housewarming Card Platinum Edition” card, which offers luxury homebuyers access to all of Williams-Sonoma’s stores and catalogs. Clydesdale Bank and Prepay to Launch Mastercard
Clydesdale Bank has joined with PrePay Technologies to
create, deliver and service prepaid MasterCard debit cards for a wide
range of applications. The alliance has already resulted in the launch
of the Western Union Travel Cash Card. The product is a secure, pre-paid
and reloadable cash card available in euros, US dollars and sterling,
which is protected by a personal PIN and is available at independent
travel agents or can be ordered online. PrePay Technologies designs and
delivers host-based stored-value card solutions including prepaid debit,
retail gift, corporate incentive and insurance claim cards.
