Spindle has signed a strategic agreement with RisePay payment gateway systems for small businesses, service providers and mobile vendors. Ameranth, Inc. announced that it has entered into a new patent license agreement for mobile ordering and mobile payment processing with Taco Bell Corp. – www.tacobell.com – the largest Mexican QSR restaurant company in the world – with nearly 6,000 locations. Taco Bell is headquartered in Irvine, California. The Ameranth-Taco Bell patent license includes mobile ordering, mobile payments and other elements critical to mobile deployments in the hospitality space.
HID Global Awarded Gesture-based Access Control Patents
HID Global secure identity solutions announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office granted several patents for the company’s innovation related to gesture-based methods of using three-dimensional (3-D) motion sequences to increase privacy, security and convenience when using RFID-based devices such as smart cards and NFC-enabled smartphones for a broad range of applications. These patent additions strengthen HID Global’s IP portfolio of over 1,000 pending and issued patents and protect the company’s intellectual capital. The invention opens up a new field of gesture-based authentication and is particularly pertinent when incorporated into an NFC-enabled mobile phone. These user-defined, gesture-based passwords can also work in a two-dimensional mode similar to a combination lock, or they can also include 3-D motions such as moving to the left, right, forward and backward.

Oberthur Technologies partnered HID Global, offering capability to support “Seos” digital keys on NFC-enabled smartphones. The partnership enables the Seos digital keys applet to be embedded in Oberthur Technologies NFC SIM cards, making it possible to use NFC smartphones for a wide range of applications that typically reside on smart cards. Oberthur Technologies´ dragonFly product family is a new generation of NFC SIM cards that combine speed and include best-in-class certifications (Common Criteria EAL4+, MasterCard, Visa, MIFARE DESFire™) and integrated anti-virus protection. The solution supports key applications driving NFC deployments such as transport, payment and access control.
