TSYS Announces New CFO, VP

TSYS announced the appointment of Paul M. Todd as Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective July 1, 2014. Paul Todd has served as executive vice president for strategy, mergers and acquisitions, product and marketing since 2008. Over the past four years, Todd directed TSYS’ diversification strategy that included four acquisitions in the direct merchant acquiring business and TSYS’ largest acquisition, NetSpend, which occurred last year. He has been the key driver in developing strategies to lead TSYS into new and faster growing sectors and markets. Prior to 2008, Todd was President and Chief Executive Officer of Synovus Financial Management, a unit of Synovus Financial Corp.

Discover Names New Bank President

Discover announced James J. Roszkowski has been named president of Discover Bank. Bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in consumer banking, financial services, payments and economic development to the role, Roszkowski is now responsible for all aspects of the Delaware banking activities and serves as a liaison to the greater Delaware business community. Roszkowski is also to manage consumer banking affinity relationships and will sit on the board of directors. He was most recently a senior executive vice president and a member of the Senior Operating Management Committee of MBNA America, where he worked since 1989 and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business management from the Peter J. Tobin College of Business at Saint John’s University.

EFTA Appoints New Chairman

James Hanisch has been appointed the chairman for the Electronic Funds Transfer Association trade group for debit, credit, ATMs, online and electronic payments and processing organizations. Currently an executive VP with CO-OP Financial Services electronic payment and ATM network serving credit unions, Hanisch will serve in the EFTA role for a 2 year term. Bringing with him extensive experience in credit, debit, online banking and payments processing, James’ background allows for soundly navigating the legislative and regulatory challenges currently in the electronic payments industry. The EFTA shapes the legislative and regulatory issues surrounding electronic payments and has always been most relevant during times of legislative and regulatory change.

ScanSource Announces Retirement of Director

James G. Foody of ScanSource is set to retire as a director of the Company effective at the conclusion of his present term in December 2010. Having served as a director of the Company for the last 15 years, including service as Chairman of the Board from December 2005 to December 2009, Foody is retiring from the Board as part of an effort to scale back his business activities. He will retain his honorary role of Chairman Emeritus and continue to be available in an advisory capacity. He also served on and chaired numerous Board committees, most recently as Chairman of the Governance Committee and as a member of the Audit, Compensation and Nominating Committees. Mr. Foody’s tenure coincided with a period of strong growth and diversification for ScanSource during which it successfully expanded into new geographies and product lines.

eLayaway Names Initial Advisory Board Members

FSV Payment Systems Lands Walmart Card Exec

Grabow is responsible for leading the development and delivery of prepaid card
programs for FSVâs financial services partners. Grabow joins FSV after several years in Walmartâs Card Products
division, where he served as Senior Director and was responsible for
strategic leadership of the Walmart MoneyCard Prepaid VisaÂ® and Visa
Gift Card programs. Grabow holds an MBA from Colorado State University
and an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in
Business from Metropolitan State College in Denver, Colorado.

NFIB/Visa Awards 2008 Scholarships

Five college-bound seniors are the recipients of Visa’s 2008 National Federation of Independent Business. Peter Crabtree of Washington State has been awarded a $10,000 scholarship for his coffee and chocolate business. The four other winners of the NFIB/Visa Inc. National Young Entrepreneur Award will each receive a $5,000 scholarship. They are: Jim Cerenzie of Spanish Fork, Utah who will attend California State. He has an e-Bay based business that sells new “old” stock from a sporting goods wholesaler; John Kirkpatrick of Beckley, W. Va. who plans to attend Wake Forest University and is the owner of ZeroPricetags which offers “gadgets” to reward people who agree to test products or participate in surveys; Eric Knudson of Boyds, Md. plans to attend Stanford University and is the co-owner of Serve It Up Tennis, LLC. The tennis lesson company and Jacob Lindemann of Manitowoc, Wis. who plans to attend University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and operates 360 Board Shop, a skateboard supply shop. This is the fifth consecutive year Visa has been the primary corporate sponsor of the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation Young Entrepreneur Awards Program. Since 2003, the NFIB Young Entrepreneur Foundation has awarded 1,900 Young Entrepreneur Award Scholarships totaling $2 million.

PULSE Beefs-Up its Executive Management

Debit network provider PULSE has promoted Judith McGuire to SVP of product management, James Cichy has been hired as VP, fraud management and Mike Urquizu has been promoted to VP of Sales. McGuire has been with PULSE since 2002 and now directs product management activities for all PULSE network products. She previously worked for First Data in multiple roles, including product development and marketing. Recognized fraud expert Cichy is responsible for PULSE fraud protection and prevention services, including “DebitProtect,” which provides risk scoring for all PIN, signature and PINless debit transactions on the PULSE network. Prior to joining PULSE, Cichy was employed at Fifth Third Bank, where he and his team were recognized for their outstanding efforts to minimize fraud losses. Urquizu oversees the national financial institution sales program and manages a team of sales executives. He is responsible for sales of PULSE network participation, as well as various processing solutions.

PPI Hires a New CFO

As CFO, Condon will oversee financial operations at PPI by focusing on capital structure, budgeting, financial reporting, and communication with the investor community. Prior to PPI, Jim was chief operating officer (COO) and CFO of GetWellNetwork, Inc., a provider of interactive patient care solutions. Before GetWellNetwork, Inc., Jim held executive management positions at EduCap Inc., a major provider of student loan solutions; SecureMethods, a technology-advantaged network security company; and CyberCash, the first publicly traded Internet payments company. PPI provides software developers with a full range of services for integrating electronic credit and debit card payments, including gateway services, integration support, merchant support services and PABP/PCI security assistance.

Vesdia Names a Board Member as CEO

As President of Swingvote, Douglass led the company’s strategy for electronic delivery of shareholder communication services to the top 50 banks and brokerage firms. Douglass previously served as CEO of Visionary Systems where he developed and implemented successful business initiatives for delivering decision software to the top 100 financial institutions. He earlier held positions as CFO and Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at CheckFree. Douglass began his career in financial services at KPMG Peat Marwick. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Georgia State University.

TSYS Prepaid Gets a New President

Accordino currently oversees issuer support for TSYS Managed Services, the servicing division of TSYS that provides call-center, risk and operations support to clients of TSYS. He joined the TSYS Managed Services team in 1999 as director of sales. Mr. Accordino’s previous roles with TSYS have included research and development, client relations, sales and total quality management. TSYS Prepaid is a leading provider of network branded prepaid card processing services.
