EVO Payments International (EVO) card payment acquirer entered into a long-term, exclusive relationship with Bank of Ireland to provide merchant acquiring services in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. The roll out of these services – which will be marketed under the name Bank of Ireland Payment Acceptance – will commence later this year. Under this exclusive arrangement, Bank of Ireland and EVO will provide merchant customers with a wide range of market-leading debit and credit card payment solutions. By combining EVO’s full suite of services with the Bank’s reputation and reach, Bank of Ireland Payment Acceptance will offer a variety of solutions that will appeal to both new and existing customers.

Visa announced that Kelly Mahon Tullier will join the company as Executive Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. She joins Visa from PepsiCo, Inc., where she was the Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. Ellen Richey, Chief Legal Officer, Chief Risk Officer, and member of the Executive Committee will continue in those roles through September 30, when she will become Vice Chairman – Risk and Public Policy. The Chief Risk Officer and the Chief Audit Executive will report directly to Ms. Richey. Ms. Richey will also lead a newly created function responsible for Public Policy at Visa, which will include ensuring that Visa continues to drive the future of payment security, being our voice with legislators, regulators and clients globally regarding payment system security, and other similar initiatives combining business and policy issues of strategic importance to Visa. She will also be responsible for coordinating global crisis management at the executive level.
American Express and the NBA will take basketball fans behind-the-scenes of NBA All-Star 2014 with its “Off the Court” digital destination, which connects fans to some of their favorite players through shared personal passions and interests, including basketball, fashion, travel and music. American Express and the NBA will once again take basketball fans inside NBA All-Star Media Day and present the first-ever American Express “Off the Court” Rookie Roundtable giving them unprecedented digital and live stream access to players they love. These live streams will allow fans to submit their own questions to players via Twitter. Fans can also chat with each other online, reacting to player’s comments and join in on the excitement. EVO Payments completed its acquisition of a controlling interest in Banco Popular’s merchant acquiring business in Spain. Banco Popular’s merchant acquiring business will now operate under the name Popular Payments. The acquisition also includes a ten year marketing alliance in which the Bank will exclusively refer its merchant customers to the joint venture for merchant acquiring services.
U.S. Bank and Polaris, a leader in the power sports industry, have created the Polaris Visa card where customers can earn points for every dollar spent at Polaris dealerships and for everyday purchases. With the Polaris Visa, cardholders earn points on all of their purchases and can redeem those points for Polaris Cash. For example, for every dollar of net purchases spent on the card at a Polaris dealership, they will earn two points. They also earn two points at gas stations and one point everywhere else. Once a cardholder earns 2,500 points, they can redeem the points for $25 in Polaris Cash, which can only be used at participating Polaris dealerships.
