Acceptance of MasterCard consumer cards for Apple Pay is picking up more steam with the addition of 25 new financial institutions nationwide. In addition, cardholders with a MasterCard small business card from Bethpage Federal Credit Union or Navy Federal Credit Union can also now leverage Apple Pay.

AOC Solutions commercial payments technology and services announced KeyBank has selected its “EnCompass” payments platform for its customers’ commercial card management and reporting. With this, KeyBank will offer its business customers AOC Solutions’ fully hosted, PCI-compliant commercial payments solution, EnCompass, as a one-stop online payment tool to help their business customers manage corporate purchasing/accounts payable (A/P), fleet, travel and entertainment, and purchasing card programs. KeyBank’s customers will also be able to obtain detailed statements and automatically analyze their spending using advanced metrics and reporting features. To access the EnCompass platform, which will be white-labeled as Key2Purchase to reflect the KeyBank brand, users will simply log in via browser using their assigned credentials.
FIS (FIS) banking and payments technology announced KeyBank selected its front-to-back prepaid solution that will enable the bank to create a new payments channel for its business and public sector clients. The multi-year agreement includes transaction processing, integrated voice response for customer care and card fulfillment. The open-loop, reloadable prepaid cards aligns perfectly with this approach by giving card beneficiaries easy access to funds, while creating new efficiencies for corporate and public sector clients – particularly those migrating from paper-based processes.
TSYS announced that it has signed a long-term payments agreement with KeyBank to provide payment processing for the bank’s consumer credit card portfolio. KeyBank made the strategic decision to bolster its payments business last year and begin self-issuing credit cards. At that time, Key purchased a $725 million Key-branded credit card portfolio from Elan Financial Services. KeyBank has selected TSYS’ TS2 platform to convert the portfolio and issue new cards going forward. In addition, KeyBank has contracted with TSYS to provide fraud prevention and risk management services to bank clients. TSYS’ past success with KeyBank involved a smaller portfolio acquisition conversion to the TSYS Program Solutions (TPS) platform in 2012.
Chase took top honors in the Keynote Mobile Banking Scorecard for overall mobile web experience in Q1 2013. This is Chase’s third consecutive win in Keynote’s ranking of mobile offerings among the 15 largest U.S. banks. In the latest Keynote Scorecard, Chase ranked #1 in two of four categories – Functionality and Ease of Use – to take the top spot overall. Features include “QuickDeposit” mobile check deposit capability; “QuickPay” person-to-person payment service; and Chase Instant Action Alerts to notify customers of a low balance. The Scorecard measures and ranks the 15 largest retail banks in the United States based on a list of more than 100 criteria in four main categories, developed from user testing and research.
MasterCard and KeyBank announced MasterCard will be the exclusive payment network for a new suite of KeyBank credit card products. KeyBank will launch the MasterCard branded suite of cards this year to further strengthen the strategic relationship between KeyBank and MasterCard that previously included long-standing agreements in debit and ATM. The renewed credit card focus includes the purchase of a $725 million credit card portfolio earlier this year, and the bank’s expanded relationship with MasterCard bolsters its Relationship Rewards program. The “Relationship Rewards” program allows clients to earn points for everyday banking activities, including debit and credit card purchases.
NACHA added State Bank and Trust Company as a Direct Financial Institution Member. NACHA oversees the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network, utilized by all types of financial institutions as a safe, secure, and reliable network for direct account-to-account consumer, business, and government payments, and annually facilitates billions of Direct Deposit via ACH and Direct Payment via ACH transactions. State Bank may now vote directly on Rules ballots, nominate candidates to serve on NACHA’s Board of Directors, and participate in NACHA Councils, along with other 47 direct members, consisting of 30 financial institutions and 17 regional payment associations.
mFoundry banking and payments provider announced KeyBank launched mFoundry’s “mBanking” mbanking technology to expand the bank’s mobile banking offering. Adhering to an aggressive schedule, mFoundry launched KeyBank’s mobile banking applications with very successful results. In the first week following the launch of its new mobile banking apps, half of KeyBank’s existing Android users upgraded to the new app. The number of new user downloads of the iPhone application has exceeded the bank’s expectations by nearly two-fold. “It’s great to see so many clients tapping our expanded mobile services. Their enthusiasm for the new service demonstrates Key’s commitment to developing services based on clients’ insight,” said Olack.
