KS-based Retail Success has acquired NE-based Boutique Window, an online marketing and social media management platform. Retail Success will add Boutique Window to its existing set of retail tools that include POSIM a point of sale, inventory management and eCommerce solution and sister company, National Merchant Alliance, a provider of electronic payment technology and services.
NJ-based Heartland Payments Systems has closed on its acquisition of KS-based TouchNet Information Systems. Heartland paid a purchase price of $375 million in cash. The deal was first announced in July.
KS-based secure payment processor Euronet Worldwide has renamed its global prepay division “epay”.
Euronetâs Prepaid Division is one of the largest
international distributors of prepaid mobile airtime. The establishment
of a single brand signifies the divisionâs transformation from a prepaid
mobile top-up distributor to a leading provider of payment services and
technology. The credibility and success of Euronetâs individual brands
provide a strong platform for the newly created global brand to ensure
the Division remains an exciting and rewarding partner for service
providers and retailers worldwide. Several Euronet prepaid subsidiaries already carry the epay name. The
remaining companies: PaySpot, Telerecarga, Movilcarga, Brodos and
Transact will now adopt the new branding.
KS-based processing solution provider Data Center is celebrating its
45th year of business. DCI was created in 1963 by four Kansas bankers,
Nation Meyer and Art Collins, J.A. Mermis and Walther Roth. DCIâs
flagship product, iCore is a fully relational core-processing
system for banks of all sizes with advanced tools for paperless and
online capabilities, automation, and support for mobile banking, teller
capture, remote capture, ATM/card services and regulatory controls such
as BSA monitoring and reporting. From the four founding banks in 1963,
it has grown to serve nearly 200 community bank customers nationwide.
DCI is a privately held provider of full-service bank technology and
processing solutions to the financial industry nationwide.
KS-based Euronet Worldwide posted third quarter revenues of $280.7
million, up 16% from 3Q/07. However, net income of $5.8 million,
compares to $15.9 million for the year ago period. Transactions for the
quarter hit 367 million, compared to 323 million for the year ago
quarter. The EFT Processing Segment posted revenues of $54.4 million for
the quarter,a 25% gain year-on-year, driven by a 17% increase in
transactions processed. EFT processed 182.3 million transactions during
the third quarter. EFT ended the quarter with 10,384 ATMs operated
compared to 10,516 ATMs at the end of third quarter 2007. The Prepaid
Processing Segment reported 3Q/08 revenues of $166.8 million, an
increase of 15%. Transactions were 180.4 million, compared to 162.5
million for 3Q/07. Prepaid Processing processes electronic POS prepaid
transactions at 409,000 terminals across 212,000 retailer locations in
Europe, Asia Pacific and the USA. The Money Transfer Segment reported
$59.5 million in third quarter revenues, an 11% year-on-year gain.
Transfer transactions hit 4.3 million, compared to 4.0 million for

KS-based loyalty marketer Visible Results has enabled the United States
Naval Academy “Yard Card” program to be expanded to include more
locations at the Academy. The cards will be
initialized and customized for each Midshipman, plus a $5 bonus will be
added to the card as part of the Yard Card program expansion
celebration. Approximately 25% of the
student base signed up for the program last year and with the expansion
of the participating locations, an increase in enrollments is expected.
All incoming Midshipmen will be given a new Yard Card. Parents will now

start a new Yard Card account for their Midshipman, refresh the balances
on their Midshipmen’s card, as well as request notifications of when
their Midshipmen’s card balance falls below a certain dollar amount.
KS-based Euronet Worldwide posted second quarter revenues of $264.5 million, up 13% from 2Q/07. However, net income of $7.8 million, compares to $8.5 million for the year ago period. But, transactions of 342.4 million, compared to 310.9 million for the second quarter 2007. The EFT Processing Segment posted transactions of 168.6 million, compared to 146.9 million for the second quarter 2007. EFT ended the second quarter with 10,160 ATMs owned or operated compared to 9,858 ATMs at the end of the second quarter 2007. In the second quarter, an ATM processing services agreement with a customer in the U.K. expired and was not renewed. The number of ATMs operated at the end of the second quarter 2008 reflects the decrease of these 2,376 ATMs. The Prepaid Processing Segment repored transactions of 169.5 million, compared to 160.2 million for 2Q/07. Prepaid solution provider NetSpend has entered into an agreement with KS-based payday loan provider QC Financial for a new prepaid debt card program. The card will be issued by MetaBank and are available at QC’s 596 locations across 24 states The NetSpend Prepaid Card Network includes leading consumer brands and companies serving the un- banked and under-banked markets, and its strategic relationships include card issuers, EFT networks and payment card associations.
Euronet Worldwide has decided not to submit a proposal to acquire MoneyGram International. The Company says it has ceased discussions. In December, after rejecting a prior offer, KS-based Euronet made a new offer to acquire MoneyGram International in a tax-free, all-stock transaction valued at $1.65 billion. The deal represented a premium of about 43% to the closing price of MoneyGram shares on December 4th, the day Euronet made its latest offer. Earlier this month, Thomas Lee Partners and Goldman, Sachs made a $700 million+ investment into MoneyGram International. Ria Envia, the third-largest global money transfer company, drove the revenue growth. Net income was $19.6 million, compared to $15.3 million for the fourth quarter 2006. “EFT Processing” posted revenues of $53.1 million, compared to $42.2 million for 4Q/06. Transactions processed were 169.8 million, compared to 128.1 million transactions in the same period last year. The EFT Segment completed the quarter with 11,347 ATMs owned or operated. “Prepaid Processing” reported revenues of $155.4 million, compared to $123.7 million for the fourth quarter of last year. Transactions processed were 172.7 million, compared to 132.0 million transactions in the fourth quarter 2006. The “Money Transfer” segment reported fourth quarter revenues of $55.2 million, compared to $0.9 million for the fourth quarter 2006. The combined entity would have an extensive infrastructure serving more than 170 countries that includes approximately 205,000 money transfer agent locations, 370,000 top-up locations, 10,500 ATMs, and over 80 international banking relationships.
