MoneyGram Signs TML to Network Partnership

MoneyGram, a leading global money transfer company, announced that it has reached an agreement with TML, one of the fastest growing remittance companies in Malaysia, to offer international money transfer services at TML locations throughout the country. With this, BP is promoting MoneyGram’s money transfer services, bill payments, money orders and prepaid cards to its network of more than 950 ampm franchises throughout Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington.

MoneyGram Hits 20,000 Agent Milestone

MoneyGram global money transferhas crossed the 20,000 agent location milestone in Africa and is opening a new office in Casablanca, which will initially house ten MoneyGram employees. MoneyGram has been in Morocco since 1998. In June 2011, the company opened its Casablanca office dedicated to taking care of its nine agents in Morocco and those in North Africa and West Francophone Africa to provide MoneyGram products and services for customers across the region. MoneyGram announced the addition of First National Bank in South Africa, an addition that doubled the company’s agent network in South Africa to 1,000 locations, before adding 600 locations in Nigeria.

MoneyGram Adds Rural Credit Union to Network

MoneyGram announced that its money transfer services at Rural Credit Union (RCU) Zhejiang are live at 96 locations in Zhejiang province of China. MoneyGram services are available to Zhejiang residents to send and receive money internationally in USD and Euros across 196 countries at participating RCU Zhejiang locations. According to the World Bank, China is the second-largest recipient of money transfers globally, with about $62 billion annually coming into the country.

MoneyGram Launches Payout Service in China

MoneyGram money transfer announced customers in China can now cash out money transfers from Australia in Australian dollars at any Bank of China (BOC), CITIC Bank or Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) branch location. The addition of Australian payout service, available at all 9,755 BOC; 1,858 ICBC; and 450 CITIC Bank branch locations offering MoneyGram services, are offered free of currency exchange fees for Australian customers sending money to friends and family in China since the transactions involve Australian dollars at both the sending and receiving location. For customers in Australia, MoneyGram is currently offering a $16 Australian dollar flat fee for any amount up to $10,000 US dollars from now until January 2, 2013.

MoneyGram Adds China Guangfa Bank to Network

CGB has 544 branches covering about 40 cities and towns in mainland China. CGB offers a broad range of financial services including personal and corporate banking, asset management, wealth management, broker-dealer and advisory services, issuance services, and treasury services and has more than 500 branches in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.

MoneyGram Adds Banco Ganadero to Network

With this, customers can access money transfer services across Coppel’s 976 retail locations, maintaining MoneyGram’s presence in the country, which boasts an inflow of approximately $24 billion in cash remittances during 2011-the world’s third largest receiver of money and Moneygram’s largest market for remittances sent from the U.S. MoneyGram will subsequently increase its marketing efforts to promote the availability of its send and receive services at Coppel’s retail stores.

MoneyGram Available at More than 10,000 Bank of China Branches

This allows customers access to MoneyGram’s services at any of the Bank’s more than 10,000 locations. China, with about $57 billion annually coming into the country, is the second largest recipient of money transfers globally thanks to the increasing global transience of citizens.
