UK workers are frustrated with cash payments providing a better case for contactless payments. Although cash usage has dropped overall in the last five years and cards are widely accepted, Brits still rely on cash for smaller payments. Already 1 in 4 people in the UK already have a contactless card. There are now over 300,000 terminals accepting contactless payments in the UK.
Globally, 66% of airline merchants are seeing fraud levels stay the same or increase as they lose 1.5% of booking revenue to fraudulent transactions, according to the global Perfect Passenger Payment insights report, commissioned by WorldPay. With 29% of airlines reporting that incidents of fraud have risen in the past year, there is in place a robust screening process when buying tickets online. With this, 71% of consumers would prefer a slower payment process with more rigorous security checks than a faster process with fewer checks. The global study surveyed 51 airline merchants including low cost, regional and global airlines and 4,500 consumers from the US, UK, China, Japan, Brazil, Finland, Spain, Germany and France to explore views on the online booking process for buying airline tickets.

According to international research, 73% of consumers surveyed in the
United States, France and Great Britain require more stringent industry
standards before trusting credit card transactions, 46% are concerned
security breaches when using payment cards and 84% lamented companies
having incurred a data breach should make the incident public. The
research, gained obtained with the survey of 1,030 consumers (407 UK,
303 USA, and 320 France), also showed 65% are often or always concerned
about Internet fraud while 43% of those having experienced data
intrusion believe it happened online. The survey was conducted by the
Secure POS Vendor Alliance (SPVA) non-profit business organization while
its respondents averaged 40 years of age, 49% of which were female and
51% were male. SPVA was established by Hypercom, Ingenico and VeriFone
payment technology companies to focus on standardized implementation of
