Lipman Targets Canadian Market with NURIT Products

POS terminal provider, Lipman, has opened a Canadian office in Mississauga, Ontario. Lipman Canada will be responsible for the sale and distribution of Lipmans full line of transaction solution products marketed under the “NURIT” brand name. Lipman says its wireless and wire-line products are well suited to support the various POS programs currently available to Interac Association Acquiring Members. Lipman’s “2085” and “3020” products have been deployed from coast-to-coast and very shortly additional EMV compliant and smart card ready devices will be rolled out. The “NURIT 8320” (both with and without internal secure PINpad), the “292SC PINpad” and soon to be released “8010” wireless handheld devices are also headed Canada’s way.

Payment Option Solutions Offers Fast Check Debit Processing

Cost-effective, real-time check debit processing has been taken to new level by Westbury, NY-based Payment Option Solutions. POS inked a deal this month to use Ingenico’s “eN-Check 3000” reader with its “Paid on Signing” product. The combined solution enables merchants to scan their customer’s check through the Ingenico check reader and within 9 seconds the system verifies that there are sufficient funds in the account. Guaranteed funds are then deposited into the merchant’s account within 48 hours. Also in June, Lipman USA certified its “2085,” “3000,” “3010,” and “3020” point-of-sale terminals for check debit processing through Payment Option Solutions. The certification enables retailers to utilize most MICR check readers on NURIT terminals to take advantage of POS’ “Paid on Signing” product. Payment Option Solutions uses SafeCHECK for real-time check verification and check debit processing. SafeCHECK uses the ATM networks to access real-time account information that virtually eliminates all risks normally associated with accepting checks. Funds can also be debited immediately, in which case, the customer gets back a cancelled check at the time of the transaction.

Lipman USA has certified its terminals for check debit processing through Payment Option Solutions. This certification enables retailers to utilize most MICR check readers on NURIT terminals to take advantage of POS’ unique Check Debit Processing opportunity. With the Paid On Signing product from POS, merchants simply pass the check through the reader and key in certain consumer information. Within nine seconds, the consumer’s personal bank account is accessed, the availability of funds is verified, and the account is debited similar to the way it would be in a traditional ATM/Debit transaction.

First Data’s TASQ Technology unit has renewed and extended its distribution agreement with Lipman Transaction Solutions to offer both wired and wireless “NURIT” products. Lipman is the leading supplier of wireless point-of-sale terminals in the United States. Lipman features both landline and wireless point-of-sale (POS) solutions under the NURIT brand name. This complete product line includes wired and wireless POS terminals, electronic cash register (ECR), ATM and kiosk solutions for the retail, restaurant, mobile commerce, direct marketing and fleet markets.

Lipman ISO Deal

Lipman has signed a deal to sell more than 6,000 POS terminals to Infinity Data Corporation. The contract is valued at $1.8 million. Under the terms of the agreement, Infinity will purchase and deploy “NURIT” POS terminals over the next 14 months. Infinity is an ISO providing “Class A” support for “NURIT” POS Solutions. Infinity’s primary focus is the “NURIT 2085” card payment terminal and the “NURIT 3000” series countertop payment solutions. Infinity will also sell and support “NURIT” wireless POS solutions.

DATAWAVE & LIPMAN

Vancouver-based DataWave Systems has signed a twenty-year licensing
agreement with Lipman USA. The deal permits Lipman to use DataWave’s card
dispenser technology to enable them to distribute and recharge multiple
prepaid products via their entire ATM product line. DataWave and Lipman
formed a joint venture in 2000/2001 to create an ATM capable of dispensing
prepaid phone cards. The new licensing agreement allows both parties to
take this collaboration to the next level.

Concord EFS has signed an agreement with Lipman for the purchase of 20,000 POS terminals. The contract includes the “Class A” certified “NURIT 3020” countertop payment solution. The “NURIT 3020” solution provides fast POS transactions through a customizable, user-friendly interface and an easy loading thermal printer, internal pin-pad, and optional smart card reader. The “NURIT 3020” also has more memory and a faster modem, powering “NURIT CAPTURE,” Lipman’s Web-based check and receipt imaging solution. Other “Class A” certified Lipman products at Concord include: the “NURIT 2085” card payment terminal and the “NURIT 3010” portable payment solution.
