Heartland Financial USA announced Duane E. White was elected to the company’s Board of Directors. White is a founding director and investor in Minnesota Bank & Trust, a Heartland subsidiary established in 2008 with current assets of $127 million and a partner at Aveus, a management consulting firm. In his role, Mr. White provides executive level consulting to a variety of firms, focusing on improving performance and enhancing shareholder value with a particular focus on the financial services and health care industries. Prior to joining Aveus, he served as Managing Director at Polihua Holdings LLC, a consulting firm working with companies in the financial services and healthcare industries. Through his position with Polihua Holdings, Mr. White served as a consultant to Total System Services, Inc. (“TSYS”), leading TSYS’s healthcare initiatives, eventually joining the company as President of TSYS’s healthcare division.

First Data to Market MPayMe mPayments

MPayMe mobile solutions and First Data partnered to offer mobile payment solutions in key markets in Asia Pacific. MPayMe and First Data will work exclusively together in Asia Pacific, and First Data will be the sole distributor and reseller of ZNAP across the region. MPayMe’s ZNAP is a mobile business and payment solution that uses QR codes to offer a secure, flexible, convenient and consistent experience for bill payment, mobile, online, printed advertising and in-store. OTI to Fill Order for 30,000 NFC and Contactless Payment Readers

On Track Innovations received a blanket order for 30,000 of its NFC and contactless payment readers for use in North America from a global leader of integrated technology solutions in the retail petroleum industry. OTI plans to deliver the entire order to its customer this year and expects additional revenues for providing support services to the customer. OTI expects to receive follow-on reader orders from this customer later this year. OTI worked closely with the customer to create a custom-built antenna (hardware) and support the various contactless payment schemes (application) on the reader itself, ultimately providing the customer with an OEM kit to fit the customer’s wide range of products. OTI was chosen over its competitors for its proven ability to solve the customer’s specific needs based on its know-how and extensive intellectual property.

Polaris Financial Technology announced Mashreq deployed its revolutionary Intellect Global Transaction Banking (GTB) platform. PayOne Files mPayment Patent Infringement Against The Home Depot

PayOne mobile payments and carrier billing filed a patent infringement lawsuit against The Home Depot, Inc. in the Northern District of California. The suit asserts The Home Depot retail store deployment and use of PayPal’s in-store checkout infringes on multiple PayOne patents including the use of a mobile phone number and a PIN (personal identification number) to complete the checkout process and payment at point of sale. The complaint seeks unspecified damages and a court-ordered injunction against future infringement by The Home Depot. The asserted PayOne patents include United States Patent No. 7,848,500, entitled “Method And Apparatus To Validate A Subscriber Line”; and United States Patent No. 7,848,504, entitled “Method And Apparatus To Validate A Subscriber Line.”

PayPal Here Fully Deploys in New Market

PayPal Here allows merchants to focus on maximizing their sales opportunity by offering credit card and PayPal payments to their customers.
