Austin-based Mozido joins in mezzanine funding for IdentityMind Global, a risk management platform for e-commerce and regulatory compliance. The investment will also integrate IdentityMind’s technology into Mozido’s MoTEAF platform, a cloud-based mobile payments ecosystem.
Austin-based Mozido is plowing big bucks into HCE (host card emulation) technology via a strategic investment in SimplyTapp.
Mozido will leverage SimplyTapp’s open card issuance platform to allow merchants to support NFC for more efficient and secure transactions within the merchants’ branded mobile application environment.
Mozido will introduce its products and solutions to China through PayEase. To facilitate the deal Mozido has acquired PayEase, previously owned in part by CapInfo Company.
Austin-based SimplyTapp has raised an additional $2.5M of their Series B financing round from Mozido, elevating the total amount of funding raised to $10.1M. The new infusion of capital will allow SimplyTapp to ramp up R&D by expanding its core engineering team and bolster channel support for global partners.

Mozido mobile financial services, through its subsidiary Centralized Strategic Services Ltd (CSS), have partnered to create a mobile wallet, branded JCUES (Jamaica Credit Unions E-payment Services), that extends financial services to Jamaica’s underbanked population. Mozido’s mobile financial services technology enabled JCCUL, which represents 42 credit unions serving over a third of the nation’s consumers, to launch a stored-value account mobile wallet initiative that delivers banking options to Jamaica’s estimated two million underbanked citizens, and also brings mobile payments and loyalty services to thousands of merchants. After a one-year initial phase, the Bank of Jamaica has approved phase two pilot of JCUES, now allowing any Jamaican to sign up, add money, and pay for goods and services without the need for a bank account. Phase two of JCUES doubles the target market base in Jamaica, giving over two-million citizens the opportunity for full control over their finances, many for the first time ever.
