NBS Payment Solutions Inc. (“NBSPS”) announced Thursday that it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Equinox Payments, LLC (“Equinox”). Equinox is a leading provider of payment terminals, applications and support services in the United States. NBSPS is a leading provider of payment terminals, applications and services to the Canadian market and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Brookfield Asset Management Inc. Equinox partnered with Infinite Peripherals mPOS devices to offer a mobile payment solution that is compatible with Apple iOS by integrating IPC’s Linea Pro™ for the iPod touch® or iPhone®, or the Infinea Tab® for the iPad®. Empowering Apple handheld devices with a barcode scanner and a magnetic stripe reader, both the Linea Pro and Infinea Tab work with custom software to create a mobile system for POS, as well as inventory management, asset tracking, ID verification and lead tracking. To date, IPC has deployed more than 300,000 of its mobile POS devices nationwide. IPC will be able to offer its customers remote key injection capabilities on its POS-related devices, utilizing the Equinox Remote Key Injection (RKI) platform and thereby maximizing convenience, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Ingenico and Heartland Payment partnered on the development of E3 and EMV-capable attended terminals for rollout to Heartland’s relationship managers. Heartland selected Ingenico’s innovative Telium2 software technology, and will call on Ingenico’s global EMV expertise to help deliver its new flagship terminals and PIN pads. The processor will begin offering and deploying the new terminal to merchants across the country starting in the fourth quarter of 2013. Heartland will integrate its best-in-class E3 End-To-End Encryption solution into Ingenico’s EMV-ready terminals and PIN pads to fortify payment data protection and security for magnetic stripe and EMV transactions. Precidia Technologies has certified its integrated payment solution to First Data electronic commerce and payment processing on Canadian POS software developers and vendors using Precidia’s solution to enable EMV (chip and PIN) compliant payments to connect to First Data for transaction processing. Precidia’s integrated payment solution delivers secure PCI PA-DSS compliant, fully managed payment processing for credit, debit, gift and loyalty cards. This solution takes POS software out of scope for PCI PA-DSS. The PIN pad is shipped directly to the site and remotely configured on first power up with minimal effort on the part of the dealer. Alerts are offered that will indicate to the merchant when the batch was settled and for how much.
