CurvePay announced the completion of its acquisition of Transaction Labs (T-Labs), the world’s only direct payment processor to combine front and back end processing with Big Data analytics capable of delivering real time, targeted 1-to-1 marketing for brick-and mortar merchants. The T-Labs platform processes a billion transactions annually with direct connections to the associations (Visa, MC, AMEX, etc.) and transaction speeds up to 10x faster than traditional processors.
Global Payments Inc. announced today an agreement to acquire PayPros which is a California based innovative provider of fully-integrated payment solutions for 58,000 small-to-medium sized merchants in the United States. PayPros delivers its products and services through a network of over 1,000 technology-based enterprise software partners to vertical markets that are complementary to the markets served by Accelerated Payment Technologies, Inc., a Global Payments company since October 2012. Under the terms of the agreement and pending regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, Global Payments will pay $420 million in cash to acquire PayPros, inclusive of tax assets. The transaction is expected to close by the end of Global Payments’ 2014 fiscal year. PayPros’ calendar 2013 annual revenues are anticipated to be approximately $100 million. Global Payments will provide further details when the transaction closes.

Clean Power Finance online marketplace for residential solar financing and leading provider of solar sales software announced the appointment of Steve Olszewski to senior vice president, operations. He most recently was senior vice president at Discover Financial Services, where he led the student loans business through the integration of The Student Loan Corporation and later oversaw the largest portfolio acquisition in Discover’s history. He also managed the six-fold growth in the deposits business, which became the company’s largest funding source. Steve also led underwriting and servicing operations for GMAC’s auto insurance business and held operations strategy roles at Capital One. He holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
QThru launched a new mobile platform, allowing shoppers to scan items with a smartphone as they shop, facilitating an incredibly efficient checkout from their phone. The QThru system has had a successful test market deployment in the Seattle area. Aretailer’s products and pricing are seamlessly synchronized with the QThru cloud. Customers can then download the QThru smartphone app and start shopping. To complete the checkout process shoppers simply enter a previously stored passcode and scan a QR code at a checkout kiosk which completes the transaction from their phone. QThru uses a cloud-based, fully PCI-compliant, secure storage facility to protect payment and personal information. A receipt is generated from the kiosk, which is highlighted in a different color and is reviewed by a store employee at the door.
PayAnywhere mobile POS solutions added two payments industry professionals to its leadership team, including Carl Williams and Ed Myers, as managing directors, advising the company on new acquisitions, partner development, domestic and international market expansion. Carl Williams’ career in financial services spans 30 years and includes his role as president of worldwide payment processing at Global Payments (GPN). Ed Myers also brings more than 30 years of financial services experience to PayAnywhere, most recently serving as president of U.S. operations at Global Payments.

Oberthur Technologies announced a key partnership agreement with Interop Technologies mobile device management, connectivity gateway, and messaging solutions for CDMA operators. Oberthur Technologies will integrate Interop’s CDMA OTA provisioning platform into its broader OTA management solution in order to serve CDMA wireless network operators worldwide. Oberthur Technologies currently supports GSM operators with its Application Loader and Management (ALM) solution, a field-hardened SIM OTA management platform deployed in 2G and 3G networks. By adding Interop’s CDMA solution to its product suite, Oberthur Technologies enables CDMA operators to manage the full range of available handsets.
