USA Technologies achieved a record approximately 22,000 new connections to its “one-stop” ePort Connect® service for approximately 20,000 net connections in its fiscal 3Q/14. As of March 31, total connections to USAT’s ePort Connect service totaled approximately 244,000. This is double that of the third quarter of last fiscal year. The Company will continue working with existing customers and the many vending operators who are now recognizing that cashless is a competitive necessity in today’s environment.

The Company will also cover Micro-market Services: USAT is making it easier to optimize cashless in today’s complex food and refreshment service businesses by linking ePort Connect to a growing list of supported micro-market providers such as Revive Self Checkout and Breakroom Provisions. In addition, ePort Connect has recently been upgraded to give consumers the opportunity to replenish their MORE. account with either cash or credit at either of these supported micro-market kiosks.
USA Technologies cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries, tannounced a new, exclusive agreement with The Pepi Companies that USAT believes exemplifies the future of integrated cashless payment, telemetry and consumer engagement services. The agreement, designed to span all aspects of Pepi’s business”from vending to micro-market, from mobile payment to cafeteria/food service point of sale”leverages Pepi’s existing cashless-enabled vending network and USAT’s new Integrated Payment Services. Integrated Payment Services, an evolution of USAT’s market-leading ePort Connect® service, was introduced to the vending industry yesterday. Pepsi was USAT’s first customer to initiate a complete conversion to cashless payment and telemetry on its vending machines, a project completed at the end of 2012. Pepi will expand its relationship with USAT by leveraging USAT products, services and add-on integration capabilities across all of Pepi’s other business segments.
Pepi’s integrated service solution will include traditional vending, using USAT’s turnkey ePort® and ePort Connect cashless payment and telemetry products and services. Pepi will also have the ability to integrate other third-party devices certified on USAT’s ePort Connect network. For Pepi’s micro-markets as well as their dining service point of sale, Pepi’s technology partner used QuickConnect to integrate with USAT, for streamlined payment services. In addition, for Pepi’s office coffee services and direct store deliveries, Pepi will use USAT’s ePort Mobile™ solution to integrate payments with other business segments. Finally, USAT’s loyalty and prepaid program, MORE., will be accessible by participating consumers using any of these payment acceptance options for an enhanced consumer experience and loyalty factor”one program for all aspects.
The PayRange system includes Blukey™ hardware, a mobile app and service, and is poised to be the world’s simplest payment solution for machines. When users are in “PayRange””or about arm’s length from the machine”they receive an alert and can then immediately “swipe” their finger on their smartphone’s touchscreen to send payment to the machine via a Bluetooth LE connection.

USA Technologies will be demonstrating two new cashless payment devices at the NAMA OneShow to be held in April 24-26. USAT’s latest devices for cashless payment and telemetry”the ePort® G9 and ePort® G10″are designed to bring greater functionality and value to business operators as they optimize their cashless payment platforms to develop new sales opportunities and greater operational efficiencies. The ePort G9 represents a redesigned, feature-rich offering for USAT’s popular JumpStart program. It will include all of the functionality of USAT’s NFC-enabled ePort G8, plus new features designed to bring more value to businesses through expanded acceptance options, consumer engagement offerings, and advanced diagnostics. USA Technologies wireless, cashless payment and M2M telemetry solutions for small-ticket, self-serve retailing industries completed its broadest, integrated deployment of ePort telemetry of data with vending management solution provider and USAT DEX Partner, VendSys, for USAT customer, Rawls Distributing. The combined solution is designed to broaden the anticipated benefits of each technology, for even greater return on an operator’s investment. Rawls is an operator of more than 1,200 vending machines and utilized USAT and VendSys for its internet-based vending management systems.

USA Technologies released new data collected from its 2012 Knowledge Base Study that highlights the business-building benefits of cashless payment adoption realized by USA Technologies’ ePort Connect vending customers. Most notably, the study revealed an impressive 84% increase in average annualized cashless sales in terminals that had adopted the cashless option for longer than one year compared to terminals using the cashless option for less than a year. USAT evaluated data over a two and one-half month period from approximately 57,000 ePort Connect® cashless vending terminals across 39 different channels or industry sectors and customer types. From the 57,000 connections studied, USAT compared a subset of 27,000 terminals where ePort Connect service had been live for greater than one year (the “Mature Subset”) to 30,000 terminals that were in early adoption stage or had been live for less than one year with a cashless option (the “New Installations” subset).
