American Express announced a line-up of unique media partnerships designed to create seamless and engaging shopping experiences for consumers that turn curated content into commerce. American Express is enabling digitally minded shoppers to find inspiration, connect to fashion and products and, for American Express® Cardmembers, receive exclusive offers. Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) has partnered with American Express to offer a first-of-its-kind “T-commerce” (Television Commerce) program, allowing consumers to shop in real-time while watching “New Girl.” Available “New Girl” give Cardmembers exclusive offers to receive a one-time $35 statement credit if they use an eligible American Express Card that has been synced with their Facebook account to make a purchase of an exclusive item seen on the show. AmEx forged similar partnerships with NBCUniversal & Zeebox.
VeriFone partnered Valero Retail to implement its “Paymedia for Secure PumpPAY” in an initial pilot at corporate-operated sites. The VeriFone “Secure PumpPAY” solutions allow gasoline retailers and distributors to retrofit gasoline dispensers with EMV-capable, PCI payment systems that meet the latest payment security standards with full-color digital display and audio that elevates the fueling experience to a new level. It also provides a solution for secure payments, targeted advertising, coupons and special offers, and delivering real-time, relevant information such as weather and safety warnings.
VeriFone Systems and NBC Owned Television Stations, a division of NBCUniversal, announced a significant long-term strategic and advertising sales agreement. Giving access to NBCUniversal’s award-winning news, information and entertainment programming in more than 12,000 taxi cabs as well as at thousands of gas stations and other digital out-of-home platforms in the future, the agreement also provide advertisers capabilities to engage consumers interactively through e-commerce, couponing and microsites. At launch, the collaboration will cover taxis in nine markets, including New York, Chicago, Boston, Las Vegas, San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and Miami, and some gas stations, with additional expansion planned. With VeriFone’s recent upgrade to its entire fleet of 6,800 NFC-enabled New York taxis, NBC Owned Stations will be able to offer advertisers new and interactive functionality, including the ability for riders to make purchases directly from the taxi screen, simply by swiping their credit card through the system or tapping NFC mobile phones on the system already in place for fare payments.
