ChoicePay and IPP of America have teamed to integrate IPP’s “Payment Settlement Network” with ChoicePay’s self-service capabilities. IPP’s Payment Settlement Network will be integrated into ChoicePay’s self-service capabilities. IPP will offer ChoicePay’s full suite of electronic payment and presentment services to clients, including multiple online and phone payment options. ChoicePay will include IPP’s walk-in payment solutions as part of their current bill payment offering as well as leverage IPP’s authorized national biller relationships on the Vcom and ChoicePay kiosk networks – increasing ChoicePay’s same-day payment capabilities to national billers. Vcom is the nation’s largest multi-biller payment kiosk network located in over 1,000 select 7-Eleven store locations while the ChoicePay kiosk network is available at strategic sites. Grocery retailer Tesco has selected Wachovia as its ATM provider for its Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market when the company’s first stores debut in the U.S. The companies are a natural fit in environmental stewardship. Wachovia recently announced a “green” financial center design in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification standards. The company will begin opening its green financial centers in Southern California later this year, and by the end of 2008 all new Wachovia branches will be built using LEED standards. Tesco is the UK’s largest retailer and one of the world’s leading international retailers, operating over 2,800 stores across 12 countries. Wachovia Corporation is one of the nation’s largest diversified financial services companies, with assets of $719.9 billion and market capitalization of $97.5 billion at June 30, 2007.
A new survey has found that 41% of teens consider themselves knowledgeable about how to budget money, 34% know how to pay bills, 26% know how credit card interest and fees work, 24% know whether a check cashing service is good to use and 14% know how income taxes work or what a 401(k) plan. More than half believe that “it is easier to buy things with a credit card than cash” and, given the choice, 29% would actually prefer using a credit card, a 61% increase in this stated preference over last year. The research by Charles Schwab also found that American teens confidently predict a future in which, based on the career that interests them most, they will be earning an average annual salary of $145,500 (boys expect $173,000 vs. girls, $114,200). The reality: Only five percent of the U.S. population currently earns a six-figure income, and the average national wage stands at approximately $40,000.
Utah-based Q Comm International has partnered with IPP of America and will resell IPP’s bill pay service on Verifone “3750” terminals. IPP provides consumers with bill payment services to regional and national vendors such as utility, cable, and wireless telecommunication companies. Q Comm International is a prepaid transaction processor that electronically distributes prepaid products from service providers to the point of sale. IPP is an alternative financial services provider offering electronic bill payment, prepaid long distance, wireless coupons, prepaid home phone, debit cards, wireless phone activation, money transfer, and merchant services.
