Germany-based Wirecard unveiled boon, a new payment solution for Android smartphones operating in four European countries. The app is now available via the Google Play Store in Germany, the Netherlands, Austria and Belgium with more to come.
Netherland-based DIDIX, a prepaid card specialist, has been
acquired by the Blackhawk Network. DIDIX products are sold to millions of consumers each year directly through retail, online and business-to-business (B2B) channels.
China continues to lead the march to online and cross-border shopping habits. This year’s findings support the growth trend: 35% of online shoppers claim to have shopped cross-border in 2015, vs. 26% in 2014. Worldline and Equens are getting married. Equens is a prominent European payment services provider, headquartered in Utrecht, Netherlands, with €305 million 2015 revenue. Equens Worldline Company will become the largest pan-European financial processor, targeting 2016 revenue of € 700 million and OMDA of € 120 million, managing approximatively 100 million payment cards and employing 3,000 experts in payment.

Until now, SEQR customers have been able to use their phones to make payments in stores where SEQR have an integration to the merchants’ cash register. SEQR customers will be able to shop with SEQR in any store that has NFC enabled card terminals, whether or not a merchant has a direct agreement with SEQR.

Wincor Nixdorf has inked Nokas for JV, the leading Scandinavian provider of cash-handling services, in June 2015. The new company, named CROWN (Cash Retail Optimization Wincor Nixdorf Nokas), has its headquarters in Delft, Netherlands, and is owned equally by Wincor Nixdorf and Nokas.
