Diebold reached an agreement to acquire Cryptera A/S, one of the world’s leading companies in the research and development of secure payment technologies. Cryptera will help expand Diebold’s leadership position in ATM security solutions and drive future innovation and excellence in the EPP space. Cryptera was founded in 1985 and has sold more than one million payment solutions globally. It is the top supplier of PIN pads for some of the world’s top manufacturers of ATMs, petrol pumps, self-service and self-checkout devices. Under the agreement, Cryptera will operate as a separate business with its own business plans and scope, and will continue to be an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of EPP solutions for Diebold and its other existing customers globally. Diebold will leverage Cryptera’s development and product capabilities to expand its OEM customer base and drive thought leadership in security throughout the self-service industry.
Better ATM Services announced changes to its leadership team to accelerate the company’s plan for profitable growth. Howard Green will assume the role of Acting President and Chief Executive Officer. He will be leading Better ATM Services’ next phase of growth with a particular focus on go-to-market strategies, creating new product commercialization opportunities and expanding leadership resources. NXP Semiconductors announced its NFC controller, PN547, is successfully integrated with Google’s latest version of the Android 4.4 operating system, ‘KitKat’. Android 4.4 now offers new platform support for NFC-based transactions through host-card emulation (HCE), allowing Android smartphone owners to use their phones to initiate a wide range of mobile applications, including payments, loyalty programs, card access, transit passes and other customized services. Support for Android 4.4 and HCE allows more consumers to experience the potential of NFC and will further expand the ecosystem. NXP has successfully demonstrated and validated multi-Secure Element (embedded SE, UICC based SE and HCE) performance on its leading NFC controllers to facilitate OEM adoption and integration. PN547 improved RF performance, easing EMVCo and NFC Forum certifications while using smaller antenna size and lowering overall solution bill of materials.

The integrated solution will be on display in the Triton booth number 508 at the ATMIA 2014 US Conference in Orlando, FL. The ATMIA USA annual conference and expo is the largest ATM-focused event in the world and this year’s event marks its 15th anniversary. Triton’s ARGO 7 ATM features a color touchscreen, supports the eco-friendly option of sending SMS text, email or printed receipts, reducing each machine’s carbon footprint and resulting in cost savings over the life of the ATM. Also it can be configured with a business hours or level one safe and is EMV ready. The Fujitsu G60, with up to 1,900 notes capacity, features 4 recycling cassettes, 1 deposit cassette and 1 optional F53 loading cassette. The loading cassette increases up time and productivity by increasing capacities, start of day replenishment or providing an additional denomination when necessary.
