Global processing powerhouse First Data had a busy year with nine contract extensions, a new German contract, and expanded nine partnerships. FDC also introduced three new products: Clover Station, VisionPLUS Flex, and Go Daddy Payment Solutions, plus upgraded a number of existing products. FDC also acquired Perka and took 100% ownership of JV. The Company also had three CEO’s during 2013 and received two major awards. Annual revenues also increased slightly in 2013, after two level years.
First Data “OfferWise” solution has been integrated with Microsoft’s Bing Offers Card-Linked, which consolidates local deals from a number of deal providers. OfferWise is an open platform that enables retailers to electronically attach offers to any consumer payment card or mobile wallet to allow streamlined and automatic redemption of the offer at the POS. Merchants will now have frictionless redemption of an “offer” or “deal” at checkout without the consumer having to use a paper coupon, voucher or promotion code on their mobile device. Other benefits include no need to change the POS system, no additional effort required to train staff in handling redemptions, and no need to wait for payments from deal promoters.
First Data electronic commerce and payment processing is working with Foursquare to extend their already-successful Foursquare Specials for Credit Cards program to now accept Visa and MasterCard, and most debit cards. Foursquare has integrated the First DataSM OfferWiseSM solution that seamlessly allows users to sync their card, and then swipe at a participating merchant location to redeem offers and receive automatic savings. First Data merchants participating in the Foursquare Specials for Credit Cards program will now be able to drive measurable and incremental purchase volume through this expanded feature, offering secure, value-added POS convenience. The integrated, card-linked structure of the OfferWise solution combined with Foursquare Specials creates a friction-free POS experience for the consumer.
Bank of America Merchant Services will offer the First Data “OfferWise” solution to all eligible merchants’ 650,000 U.S. locations through 2Go Media’s iDeals Marketing Platform, which integrated the solution into its iDeals Marketing Platform bringing offer creation, distribution and redemption for merchants. The integration of the First Data OfferWise solution through an API developed by CardSpring will allow Bank of America Merchant Services customers to electronically attach offers such as deals, eCoupons and loyalty programs to one or more of a consumer’s payment cards or mobile wallets to enable automatic redemption of the offer at the point of sale. The customer simply swipes the card at the merchant’s point of sale and the offer is redeemed.
First Data Corporation electronic commerce and payment processing announced the extension of the First Data “OfferWise” solution to all offer publishers and the first wave of First Data’s network of more than four million U.S. merchant locations. Over 500,000 merchant locations are now enabled to leverage the OfferWise solution for customized offers programs and other electronic incentive solutions, with more than 100 publishers using the platform to develop innovative, card-linked services. This same group of First Data merchants generated tens of billions of dollars in transaction volume at the POS both online and in-store in 2011. The open platform simplifies the offer redemption process and creation of card-linked services for consumers and merchants. It allows offer publishers or application developers to electronically attach offers such as deals, eCoupons and loyalty programs to one or more of a consumer’s payment cards or mobile wallet to enable streamlined and automatic redemption of the offer at the point of sale.
Affinity Solutions launched its “Coupon-on-a-Card” real-time offer redemption technology through First Data Corporation. The “Coupon-on-a-Card” solution is to be demonstrated for the first time at FinovateSpring 2012 in San Francisco and is designed as a next-generation marketing system for financial institutions that delivers and electronically links offers directly to consumers’ credit and debit cards and allows these offers to be redeemed in real time. It is designed to offer consumers merchant offers from there financial institution, which can be linked to his credit card or debit card so the specific coupon can be automatically redeemed at the time of purchase.
First Data launched its “Offerwise” open platform to simplify the offer redemption process for consumers and merchants as a part of First Data’s vision to deliver universal commerce. The First Data OfferWise solution allows offer publishers to electronically attach offers such as deals, eCoupons and loyalty programs to one or more of a consumer’s payment cards or mobile wallet to enable streamlined and automatic redemption of the offer at the point of sale (POS). First Data is currently piloting its OfferWise solution with dozens of merchants and it will be made available to its more than four million U.S. merchant locations.The OfferWise solution can link offers to any type of payment card including all major credit association brands, PIN or signature debit. Offers are redeemed in real time at the merchant’s POS with immediate feedback provided through the payment terminal or smartphone.
