Isis mobile commerce joint venture created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless announced Wayne, a GE Energy Business, and Gilbarco Veeder-Root will provide integrated support for the Isis “SmartTap” mobile commerce app. Allowing consumers to quickly and efficiently pay, present loyalty cards and redeem offers with a single tap of their Isis Ready phones at the gas pump, Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s modular payment architecture will be equipped to accept SmartTap, factory-installed fuel dispensers and retrofitted fuel dispensers currently installed at convenience stores across the country.
VeriFone Systems announced a contract to supply its unattended pay-at-the-pump and digital media solution with Petline Petroleum. The petroleum distributor will begin implementing VeriFone’s “MX760” unattended payment solution at its SELFSTOP self-service dispensers. Turkey is one of Europe’s leading credit card markets, but until now consumers have not been able to utilize pay-at-the-pump technologies. VeriFone is first to deliver automated payment solutions for Turkey’s retail petroleum market, which has an estimated 75,000 fuel dispensers. Petline can utilize the payment system screens to display commercials and promotional videos as customers are fueling their vehicles. On Track Innovations contactless smart card solutions has supplied over 7,000 contactless payments readers to support the growing contactless payments market through its wholly owned Polish subsidiary, ASEC. ASEC was the first to introduce contactless payments for mass transit in Poland and provides customers the option to load their contactless ticket and pay for it with the same contactless card on ASEC’s ticket vending machines on the “Warsaw City Card.” OTI reader configurations include the countertop reader for indoor usage (“Saturn 6000”), mounted reader for outdoor and vending (“Saturn 6500”) and OEM readers for integration into POS terminals. NC-based Gilbarco kicked off its “FlexPay EMV CRIND” systems, installed at Gilbarco Encore S gas pumps with encrypted the information from each cardâs chip as well as the PIN the customer entered on the keypad. More than 16,000 Gilbarco “FlexPay EMV CRIND” terminals are installed worldwide, including sites with leading retailers in Canada and meet EMV 1 & 2, PCI PIN Entry Device (PED) and Interac requirements. They are available factory-installed in new dispensers or as retrofit kits to upgrade existing dispensers with an integrated appearance. A modular design enables service on individual components instead of replacing the entire payment system. Physical security features disable operation in the event of device tampering. Logical security features encrypt data at the point of card and PIN entry and throughout the system. Gilbarco Veeder-Root also developed the first fuel dispenser payment solution that meets the PCI requirement that applies in the United States. Since launching the FlexPay Encrypting PIN Pad (EPP) in 2008, the company has shipped more than 100,000 of the devices.
Exxon and Mobil retailers and Citi are giving cardholders the opportunity to earn a dining certificate that can be used at thousands of restaurants and online merchants. Hypercom Corporation announced that Gasodata has selected the “Artema
payment terminal for installation at fuel retailers throughout Portugal.
The rollout and installation of over 700 “Artema” Modular kits integrated
with Dresser Wayne pay-at-the-pump systems has already begun. The
PCI-certified unattended payment terminal will be used for chip and
magnetic stripe cards, supporting debit, credit and other private label
card schemes. All transaction data is transmitted via an IP module which
