Visa Europe launched its Higher Apprenticeship program after recruiting 14 apprentices this summer for its 20 new apprenticeships. PDS Group IT and Telecoms apprenticeship consultancy, was selected by Visa Europe to help build its IT, Finance and Business Administration Apprenticeship programmes. PDS won the contract after providing an initial feasibility study. All but one of the 14 apprentices will join the TPS technology division to study for a Foundation Degree and a Level 4 Diploma to become ICT Professionals, whilst one will work in the Finance division and study for AAT and CIMA qualifications over a four-year period. Visa Europe has also introduced six Business Administration Apprentices who will join the teams in HR, Strategy, Corporate Communications, Relationship Management & Sales, Risk, Compliance & Corporate Services and Marketing, bringing the total apprentice intake to 20.

Payment Data Systems integrated electronic payments solutions provider announced revenue for the year ended December 31, 2009 increased 7% to $3,218,674 from $3,001,487 in 2008. The increase of $217,187 was primarily due to increased card-based processing revenue from increased transaction volume. Operating loss improved by 46% to $941,670 for 2009 from $1,690,300 in 2008. Net loss for the year ended December 31, 2009 decreased to $803,526 from $944,617 in 2008, but the net loss for 2009 was $267,326 after adding back noncash stock-based compensation expenses of $536,200. Additional disclosures show Payment Data Systems processed 29% more credit card transactions in 2009 as compared to 2008; 11% more credit card dollar volume in 2009 as compared to 2008; total assets increased 91% from $607,991 at December 31, 2008 to $1,162,869 at December 31, 2009; cash increased 447% from $103,428 at December 31, 2008 to $565,597 at December 31, 2009 and net income was $22,565 for Q3 of 2009 and a net loss of $53,712 for Q4 of 2009.
Alliance Data Systems Corporation loyalty and marketing solutions has
signed a multi-year agreement with CA-based Pacific Dental Services
(PDS) business support services provider to provide patient financing
and marketing services through a private label credit card program.
Terms of the agreement stipulate Alliance Data is to provide integrated
private label credit card services for receivables funding; credit
authorization; statement generation; remittance processing; customer
service functions; and marketing services in support of the private
label credit card program. ADS is also to integrate account acquisition,
authorization and settlement services into Pacific Dental’s practice
management system to allow for seamless account acquisition and patient
financing. PDS provides comprehensive business support services to
dental and orthodontic practices throughout California, Nevada, Arizona,
Colorado and Texas with recorded 2008 revenues in excess of $270 million.
